Dahlhaus only averages close to double the number of touches Atkins does in the same role. If he gets back to full fitness he's a big upgrade in that role. Yes Gaz comes in too ideally but it wouldn't be Atkins coming out because they want that defensive side.
My concern with Dahl is that his injury might not be easy to shake, so the "full fitness" part is a question mark. The other options we have are ok if he can't get back but he's number one

See I go the other way.

Parfitt wasn't on a man and ran past the player on the mark after he marked it. Was lucky to not have the whistle blown 50 straight away.
He was actually in the zone and didn’t get out quick enough. It wasn’t a horrible call but plenty like that aren’t called.

Duncan just went straight over the mark. Silly.

He was also lucky that forwards couldn't move opponents around with immunity back then like they can do now. Hawkins would've rag-dolled him with monotonous regularity otherwise.

Dunno about that, Lake was a big gorilla himself. At his absolute best, imo, he was as good as Scarlett, just didn't have the longevity of excellence that Scarlo did.

His first half of last season was far superior to anything since, love to see him re find that out put.
You could say that about the whole team though.

Both he and Rohan were applying forward pressure before anyone else in our team while also either hitting the scoreboard or score involvements.

IMO both critical for us.

Umm... You do realise Clark is a stick figure at the moment that can't lay a tackle?? Different players different positions.
Let's compare apples with apples rather than chucking in a passionfruit.
As for JJ... Sav gives us much more in spades IMO. Now thats apples with apples.
Just a different POV.
Cheers RC.

Right now Sav isn't best 22.

I’d like to see him in against the crows. The set up of one big forward in Hawkins looks ideal but let’s see what he brings.
The problem with that is that he will be playing against such weak opposition that it will be no indication if he is up to it or not. I would prefer to let Sav get some confidence against the pitiful Crows.

I don't want Jenkins in the team, full stop.

This might not be a popular opinion, but I kinda feel we've found the perfect balance of talls right now.
Our backline looks absolutely rock solid in the air, and when the midfield pressure the ball like they have done recently, then we ensure the opposition can't hit up those short leads, half of the "tall" backline are very adaptable in terms of who they can play on, all of Kolo (whose a weaklink for mine), Stewart, MoC and Henry can play on mediums or even smalls if needed, and forward I really like the setup with Rohan and Hawkins only, with Blicavs (whose playing this role brilliantly right now) as a tall back/second ruck behind Stanley.
Personally I wouldn't bring in Sav, or any other tall.

Yep, posted earlier in the thread, we're beautifully balanced now. No Sav or Jenkins needed unless there's injuries.

Question without notice, can anyone shed light on whether Geelong players are getting information on time left in a quarter or not,it's easy at home with the time clock to say why do this or that with seconds to play.I sure iv'e seen boards at some grounds but can't recall seeing one at our games.
Some clubs hold signs, but cats seem to be one of the few that I've never seen signs from the bench, like ever. Think we back our leadership structure to pass the message across the field.

And don't you just love it when people don't know what they're talking about

One of these things is not like the other...

GMHBA Stadium - 170m - 116m
MCG - 161m - 138m
Metricon Stadium - 158m - 134m
Gabba - 156m - 138m

Duncan moved more sideways than over the mark. And Lycett had moved well off his mark, the umpire was embarrassed he didn't call play on and had to save his own ass.
Can’t agree. Can only move east-west on the mark.

Atkins actually played ok, with his scrubber kicks out of packs. In fairness, he also laid a monster tackle and kicked his goal. I would not be surprised if Chris Scott sneaked him in for 1 coaches vote.
You cant be serious. His one goal was a 10m chip kick to him whilst unmanned from hawkins who should of taken the kick himself. That 1 tackle was excellent and if he did a couple of them a week I would see the merit in him as a defensive forward. But he does that once a month. Didnt lay another tackle for the whole night. despite so much ball in the forward line another game where he hasnt had more than 10 touches and none of them are particularly memorable.

I think it was towards the end of the first quarter where the commentators mentioned the board on the sidelines letting the players know the quarter was nearly over - or something along those lines

Not sure if it was us or Port though who were informing their players, but either way both teams would have an understanding of what's being indicated

A point was raised on SEN that with 5 weeks to the finals there's an opportunity for opposition teams to really break down how the Cat's are playing and work out how to best combat it and not give them the kind of chances Port did last night like leaving TBone one on one all night. Hodge said, "That's what happens when you play your best footy 5 weeks out from the finals. It gives other teams a chance to really look at them now."

Port won't leave TBone one on one again, that's for sure. This is the challenge for the Cat's now. We know in 2019 CS really couldn't adjust the side after opposition worked them out. So we'll now get a chance to see if he can do it in 2020. I don't think we'll be seeing TBone left one on one in many games ahead. This is the nature of the competition.

We need to give him one game to prepare himself for when Tommy does some other insignificant thing that gets him a week in a final.

Your right though at minute is hard enough to see Esava getting back in let alone a 3rd tall in Jenkins in the same side.

But I still back the club here. Having Jenkins on the list last year might have meant we were the reigning champs.
Lets step through the contingency plans:

- if hawk is out, sav comes in
- if Stanley is out, sav comes in
- if hawk and Stanley are both out, then sav and fort come in
- if Rohan is out, Krueger comes in

The only instance I would entertain Jenkins coming in is if something happened to Rohan and they didn't trust Kreuger. Which is why they need to play Krueger now and see if he is up to it this year.

I kindly pointed it out to them and even included a Metricon which is 158 x 134...

Seems we are enjoying the larger grounds this year

Would’ve lost that bet, Gabba and MCG being so similar. Thought Gabba was quite small.

We could tidy that up,even last night at the end of the 2nd quarter? with us in control of the ball and only time for one long kick to to the forward 50 we pissed around with it and ran out of time.
