Is Marvel ever used now for finals?
The league has since prioritised playing finals at the MCG, to allow a bigger crowd, even when a Marvel Stadium tenant earns hosting rights as seen in 2015 when the Western Bulldogs hosted Adelaide at the larger ground and lost.

I just got this from Google, so doesn't like it anymore.

Geelong needs to get with the program it's to allow more crowd & more $$.
Also, Chris Scott was the only coach to complain about Gather Round being unfair btw.

Scott likes gather round he just thinks Port and Crows should face each other instead of interstate teams.

For lauding the entire concept and pointing out the quite factual reality that two teams pick up an extra home game out of it and suggesting they play each other to balance the anomaly.

Yes he really got on his soapbox and teed off about that one didn’t he. I hope he issues a heartfelt apology for the minorities he offended with that explosion 😂

No surprise the CFL moved Richmond a team with more consecutive years of genuine 100k members than anyone else to the Bowling Alley.
#boysclub
100k members is the claim here.

Round 2 home game attendance: 30,254
Round 4 home game attendance: 45,112

No doubt part of the 2nd game will be the Swans strong support. Average of 37,683. Our home game average this year is 39,352 :$

Maybe if the pissant Richmond fanbase spent less time telling anyone who'll listen that the "CFL" are corrupt... Without any evidence mind you... and actually attended home games you wouldn't be looking like a tit here.

Good to know Geelong is the only club that ever loses hometown advantage due to the AFL's prioritisation of crowd size.

I thought non-Victorian clubs also had to deal with that, but no. The Grand Final apparently doesn't count. A Geelong supporter told me, so it must be true.

Yeah those crowds haven't been great but thats us our at worst.

Your CEO is one of the big reasons their is many issues in the game today.

I think it's very clear that Geelong supporters are talking about finals other than the Grand Final - I'm not sure what your confusion is. They are the only club that has to play their home finals in a different city.

Well, when the AFL makes the grand final hosting decision based on an actual deal struck with the Victorian government whereby they have agreed that it will be there come hell or high water, they haven’t actually prioritised crowd size. Crowd size is incidental.
The $500 million they got from the government in the agreement was of significantly more importance.

The grand final in theory is a game where there is no host. No one is assigned home ground advantage. If a team happens to be based there, again, it is incidental. The first three weeks of the finals however operate under a system whereby the higher ranked team has the right to host it.

It’s not a complex system

See. No evidence at all.
Nothing Hocking did has ruined the game or more importantly as it is what you're really hinting at, stopped Richmond playing well.

Just more excuses from a pissant fanbase.

You would think with how we run the AFL we would be a shoe in for the GF every year and win most of them

It's better for business to cycle it around the clubs with lots of scarf wearing supporters that will only buy a membership when their team is doing well. Next one is Carlton.

There's no confusion. We both agree it's very clear that Geelong supporters want to avoid the subject of the Grand Final because it doesn't suit their narrative.

They are the only club that has to play their home finals in a different city.
No they're not. But a true statement is that Geelong gets to play Grand Finals in their home state, which is something 8 (soon 9) other clubs never get to do.

No we are plenty happy to talk about it because it’s known and explained as to why the grand final is held where it is held.

There is no narrative to suit

Sorry dear, but you don't know what you're talking about.

The in-finals ranking system used to determine the ‘home’ Club for the AFL and AFLW Grand Finals will be codified.

Under the ranking system, the Clubs who win the Qualifying Finals will be the first and second ranked Clubs for the purposes of determining the home Club for Grand Finals.

Sorry dear, but you don't know what you're talking about.

😂😂😂 a technicality based essentially on who gets to wear their home strip and have the home dressing room is your argument?

No you’ve put everyone in their place you really have.

You're right - let me rephrase: Geelong are the only club that has their home ground advantage removed during finals. This doesn't include the Grand Final which I feel like I shouldn't have to clarify this as no Geelong support has argued against this - but you seem focused on it.

I'm assuming you're pointing out that Fremantle plays in Perth (although it's a stone throw away), etc.
