You're also dismissing our draft work over the past few decades which has been exceptional. We have also been blessed with some father sons who have worked out swimmingly. It's not our fault other clubs can't read a draft or develop their draftees like we have.

Correct. But no nailed on best 22 Cats ever seem to say yes to other clubs. But somehow all these high value players in, and none out, all fits neatly within the salary cap.

Makes sense.

They're paid unders as well.

It's almost like the surf coast lifestyle and not being mobbed in a major city is an attractive prospect.

"My team mismanaged its list so poorly to the point we won the wooden spoon ahead of historically bad teams in North and WCE and became the laughing stock of the comp, why didn't Geelong do the same".

No. None at all. I can’t think of any good, high profile players at all this century who have ever ended up at another club having been at the cats.

Geelong will never be free of either accusation, as they failed to manage conflict-of-interest

(and I swear, any other GFC posters who can't understand 'perception of bias' vs 'actual bias', and their relative importance to COI...arghh)

The CEO-elect of the team that just lost a GF makes wholesale and bizarre changes to the rules of the game...I mean seriously.

And now, if this ex-GFC auditor decision stands, well you may as well go buy another pack of stickers with '*' on them.

GFC are their own worst enemy, pure and simple.

Rules were changed after Hawks rushed through a billion behinds in the 08 granny.

Was that Hocking?

Geelong isn't conducting the audit on themselves either. Take it up with the AFL.

Bead Ottens' recruitment changed it. He was the first of a few big-name players who chose Geelong.

I do not count players like Justin Murphy as he hated the place and couldn't wait to get out.

Last time I checked, Bailey Smith, Isaac Smith (no relation), Tyson Stengle have no affiliation with Geelong.

Isaac was told Geelong were picking him up ahead of his draft in 2010. I was texting him about it, and then Hawthorn swooped in unexpectedly. That sucked.

Like I said, it's 'perception of bias' that has/will do for GFC's reputation in each case.

You don't have to manage it, but if you don't, you get the dodgy brothers label

And you can say you don't care about that, and 4 walls, etc. and that's fine
