Having 4 byes and some teams don’t even play each other is ridiculous.
Yes. And last year there were covid interruptions as well just when we wanted backup players getting match fit.
Early days but I was impressed with VFL showing in practice match v Richmond- squad appears to have speed, footskills and tackle skills. Fiore was impressive - nice lead/mark sort of in the Gunston mould - only one practice match but one to watch.
We play Essendon in our final VFL practice match, then play them in round 1 of the VFL season. Weird fixturing to say the least.

J. Henry looked real solid down back. But I’m guessing if he’s playing in a VFL scratch match a week out of round 1, he won’t be ready in time.
The VFL boys skills as a whole were sloppy and a bit disappointing. Heaps of dropped marks and goals missed.

So the club wanted S Neale to get back and play in this VFL practice match, maybe they mite be thinking about playing him

You’d think they would’ve given him more game time in the afl pre season games if so. Neale hasn’t even played full games of ruck in the vfl so not sure what position he could come in for at this stage.

I can still remember when Blitz played in our Round 1 v Hawks as our no 1 ruck, after not getting picked in the VFL finals year before. As we had all our rucks injured..
Me personally would rather give Neale 5 or 6 games straight over Esava
