KRock interviewed O'Bree at half time: Match Audio - K rock Football

Duncan played 3/4 and O'Bree expects him to be up for selection; Stephens, Narkle and Stevens all mentioned. Dempsey was the only first year player to stand out in the match, kicked 4.3 playing forward. Also O'Bree explained why Whyte was in the emergencies, said he'd been really impressive over preseason.

Heck, that's impressive from Dempsey in any case, but especially considering his background.

That was a good interview and I'm very keen to see them play now

Anyone have a broadcast guide for vfl? Kayo?
apparently 1 game per week will be on 7 and all games will be on the AFL demand part of the afl.com website/app

This is from an article the other day:

Broadcast and streaming: VFL broadcast partner the Seven Network will show a weekly game plus finals, live and free on 7 in Victoria and 7Plus nationally. Fans can catch up from anywhere around the nation on 7plus. All VFL matches in 2022 will be live streamed and available on demand via the AFL website (afl.com.au) and AFL Live Official App.

Nice, I haven't tried afl demand but will get it working

If it's anything like watchafl.com.au for us Internationals, it's super convenient. My only two complaints are that the app can't install on Android TV and it doesn't support one-key rew/FF. The fast rew/FF would be good for quick personal replays.

So AFL on Demand looks like a precursor to having all product run thru their own streaming service ..not Kayo. VFL etc free. for the moment ?
The AFL have been slowly trying to get closer and closer to having their own streaming platform for a while now (AFLW and events have been streamed there). The VFLW and VFLM is another step closer to them having more control but I also doubt Kayo wanted it again.

Do we know the final VFL squad yet?

*as of 26th of March 2021

**Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, AFL clubs can nominate up to 20 players to be used in case of a COVID outbreak throughout the 2022 AFL premiership season.

North Melbourne (8.6 54) defeated by Geelong Cats (9.5 59)

Sunday, 6th of March @ Arden Street

It was just a small win to get Geelong’s pre-season started by five points but the Cats were without the majority of AFL-listed players as they flew up to the Gold Coast to play an AFL practice match.

Essendon Bombers (15.8 98) defeated Geelong Cats (11.15 81)

Saturday, 19th of March @ The Hangar

Oliver Dempsey kicked four goals but it wasn’t enough to get Geelong over the line in a very inaccurate day to lose by 17 points.

It’s always fantastic to start a new season at a home venue and the Geelong Cats will do exactly that as they take on the Essendon Bombers on the first Saturday of the 2022 season before taking an away trip in round two to face the Collingwood Magpies.

They’ll face an even split of home and away matches and will face just one interstate trip in the challenging form of Southport in round four while also not having to face the Gold Coast Suns and Sydney Swans at all.

Round 1: Geelong Cats vs Essendon Bombers at GMHBA Stadium - 26th of March at 2:05 pm

Round 2: Collingwood Magpies vs Geelong Cats (away)

Round 3: Geelong Cats vs Brisbane Lions (home)

Round 4: Southport Sharks vs Geelong Cats (away)

Round 5: Bye

Round 6: Geelong Cats vs Williamstown Seagulls (home)

Round 7: North Melbourne vs Geelong Cats (away)

Round 8: Bye

Round 9: Northern Bullants vs Geelong Cats (away)

Round 10: Geelong Cats vs GWS Giants (home)

Round 11: Footscray Bulldogs vs Geelong Cats (away)

Round 12: Bye

Round 13: Werribee FC vs Geelong Cats (away)

Round 14: Geelong Cats vs Richmond Tigers (home)

Round 15: Frankston Dolphins vs Geelong Cats (away)

Round 16: Geelong Cats vs Casey Demons (home)

Round 17: Carlton Blues vs Geelong Cats (away)

Round 18: Bye

Round 19: Geelong Cats vs Coburg Lions (home)

Round 20: Geelong Cats vs Sandringham Zebras (home)

Round 21: Box Hill Hawks vs Geelong Cats (away)

Round 22: Geelong Cats vs Port Melbourne (home)

Ling being appointed co-captain is really interesting - still young and not a ton of experience at this level. Also plays in a position where we won't have a ton of senior-listed depth, so could have the chance to play consistently and make a real impact.

Jesse Travaglini is my housemates nephew, who is the brother of Mick O'Malley who worked for the club at one stage in the fitness department.

He can play a bit. I think he was at St.Mary's last year.
