Geelong are the only side that currently cannot trade this year's 1st round pick. Whately deliberately used the Hawks to push Geelong's agenda here.
Hopefully the Cats keep GAJ, bring in Steven and Higgins using a first round pick somewhere (via Tim Kelly trade) and lose Kelly.
It will force kids out and set them back long term.

We have Bolton and to come into the mix and a rumoured to be into an assistant from one of the Sydney clubs
Being post season for both Hawks and Swans could only imagine that it would be someone from GWS, might just have to wait a week.

Edit, after browsing their coaching staff Brad Millar looks a nice fit for mine. Current forward coach, has coached a NEAFL premiership.

Yep. This topping up shit isn't going to get them a flag. I hope they are allowed to do this

Lenny Hayes another.

Yeah, I reckon Whatley doesn't understand the rule. This article published by the AFL just last week says that Hawthorn has no restriction on their first round trades this year. Geelong is the only club that does. If Melbourne or Hawthorn don't make a first round pick this year then they will have a restriction next year. But still only Geelong is restricted this year.

It's interesting that the media could get this article wrong a few days after the AFL published the explicit trade standings. Unexpected.

It was calculated what he said, despite it being wrong.

There is an agenda there.

Unless of course Geelong has something in play and Gerard is planting the seed
