Still far too open to interpretation for my liking. Basically just allows them to manipulate it to get whatever result they want.

If a player bumps, makes some head contact, but the other player is perfectly fine then any punishment based on potential is essentially a punishment for some hypothetical version of the event where an injury does occur.

And the players involved definitely influences how these interpretations shake out.

And the game predictably get's a little closer to becoming a form of netball/basketball, i.e. unnecessary contact is penalized..!

In 10 years from now we'll all be watching replays and saying; "Gee, remember when players didn't have to all wear helmets, were allowed to deliberately bump, aggressively tackle and jump into the backs of their opposition to take marks etc. - what crazy times they were..!"

Been posted earlier in the year but well worth listening to Wingard such a significant recruit for our off field culture.

Been saying for years the Swines are a germ-ridden club of parasites! :winkv1:

Wonder if the AFL could survive another covid riddled season. Some ciubs would be extremely worried. Surely they have a contingency plan for a rapid season with no byes and all clubs playing multiple times each week.

If theres no plans in place the AFL is a joke
I've already put a * on the tigers and demons flags from 20 and 21. Happy to do it for 22 if we don't win it.

Looks like the perth teams will have to play away as games in Perth will be impossible unless they make a hub there

So Bailey Smith just returned to training pretty quickly

Not even close to true. 🤷‍♂️
Actually a little bit true here. The NHL and the NBA are taking a week off to get players off protocol. There have been a few games rescheduled prior, but interestingly enough no restrictions on the crowds (to my knowledge anyway, might be some exceptions in Canada). Also interesting, only one player in the entire NHL has not been fully vaccinated, yet the team he is on did not cancel any games other than for opposing teams lack of players.

The NFL has done a little juggling, but played their games and all to full houses of fans.

College basketball has seen a couple of forfeits, but again, so far no crowd restrictions.

To be fair, many if not most arenas require proof of vaccination (but not ID).

None of what you've just described is what I would call full steam ahead.

Not disagreeing, but probably not as far as some would seem to assume. It's also only an indication of what's happening in the States, not in any of the other codes. Cheers.
