I think that will happen anyway. A young side in the finals for the first time may find the finals pressure a little overwhelming. Terrible day over here in Adelaide, it will be interesting to see how GWS handle these conditions.

Can't help but notice the media appointed best forward line in the league only scored 3 more goals than 2 Geelong players scored individually.

The media have already anointed the next media-built superstar, Silvagni. Only had 5 touches yesterday but they were magnificent, each and every one of them. People complain about about how McAvaney gushes over Cyril but at least Rioli does things to warrant praise. All Silvagni has done is be the son of the most over-rated full back in history. I've already reached the point where I cannot watch Carlton games because of the way the media carry on about him, it's going to be like Chris Judd all over again.

What's the odds of flipping it 16 times and getting heads every time? 0.000015%

But what's the odds of flipping a regular coin and getting heads assuming you've already flipped it 15 times and got heads every time? The answer is 50% because that toss is independent of what has occurred before - no matter how unlikely it was to happen.

If we win today we will have won 8 in a row. Those wins are banked and we will not be any more "due" for a loss than after round 1. We simply could go on another 8 game winning streak. Or a different take on the "one week at a time" cliché; 8 separate 1 game winning streaks.

Football isn't a simple 50/50 coin toss though. There are plenty of complex variables involved. Perhaps one of them is complacency and perhaps it can be remedied by a loss. But I believe that this team is mature enough that should it get to finals undefeated from here that it will be aware not to let complacency creep in.

Would've been OK with us dropping today if it wasn't for Sammy. If we pick a game to not show up in, it cant be against a fellow 8 side. Pies too late in the scheme of things, don't want that heading into a bye, then finals. Blues, away at AO and ruin our record down there? Depending on their form, and Bolton, they could do it anyhow. Would put fire back in the bellies for North and Weagles to retain top.

The end of season bye changes it. We started this run before the bye, if we finish the season without dropping one we will have won 13 in a row but by the time finals start there will have been two breaks in there, plus this 10 day gap. Changes it a bit.

But when he has a shocker his worst is bloody bad. I recall he had the yips for about 5 games in a row before being dropped, (on more than one occasion) he did come back much improved. Thats said, he was probably just outside our best 22 hence why he was often given the sub vest.

He's their problem now and we're certainly not missing him.

Was a match winner in the preliminary final last year. Also bloody good at the start of the grand final in 2014.

I've said it before, GWS going into finals second placed to our first place is great for us.

We'll play all our finals (if we win them) at the MCG which helps us go straight through to the GF. Likewise GWS will play all theirs at their home ground where they play far better than away.

Then if all goes to plan and we would play them in the GF where I would feel very confident we'd do them easy on the MCG in front of 90k people. Probably more than twice the biggest crowd most of them would have ever played in front of.
