Huge win for the Lions in the context of the finals. They beat St Kilda at home next week (which they should) and they are only 2 home game wins away from the grand final.
Except then they have to play at the G, which is a massive problem for them these days. They'd prefer if the GF was at Marvel.

Ahead of Sicily. Mind boggling
There were 6 defenders who were wrongly selected ahead of Sicily last year. He should have been the first defender picked.

He will hopefully be picked this year - and should be - but at least he missed a bunch of games this year. Last year was one of the most disgraceful errors the AA selectors have ever made

In strife. Three most important players out injured. Can’t recall a more open season. I can’t confidently predict a flag winner
Yep it has real vibes about a team coming from 7th or 8th to win getting on a roll .

Most confident about the Dees though .

Damien Hardwick apparently has miraculously recovered from his burn out and is looking forward to the challenge of coaching the Suns.
It’s a smart move from Hardwick because he knows the Tiggers list is shot and he had no desire to go through a rebuild, he now has the most talented list in the Comp to work with.

I think you're being a bit harsh on him. It's likely upon reflection after getting away from the club and football in general for an extended period of time, something which he probably could never do properly in the past 13 years or more, that he has realised he's not burnt out coaching but from coaching Richmond.

I think a big factor which would make coaching Gold Coast more appealing then say a Melbourne based club comes down to the fact this is not only an opportunity to change your working environment but also your lifestyle as well. For someone that was feeling burnt out being able to get away from the fish bowl that can be Melbourne to live on the coast where barely anyone would know who you are walking down the street would be hugely refreshing.

I dare say if this was a Melbourne based club who came knocking we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Just happy to take on a list that isn’t destined for a few years down the bottom due to his poor trade moves, and to put as much distance as he can between him and his family

He seems to always get injured when the pies are struggling, but seems to be fit when they're going well.
He's the kid in primary school that always gets a stitch or a cramp when losing a race
