What does Michalanney get? Looked like two separate incidents. One was a very intentional gut punch, and the other a very intentional forearm drop to the head. Looked like they were both from him, unless I've got one wrong.

Honestly didn't think much of the gut open palm. The elbow on Wiz though, deserves 2

Has there ever been a season with this many teams with a percentage in the the plus? That's 14 teams as of tonight and it surely won't stay being that many teams by the end of the season but it really does show you how close a season it's been.

The Port loss was likely the catalysis for where we are now but geez it makes the world of difference to the ladder if you switch that win around with them. We'd be 6th and just percentage off of 4th.

Read this. Bulldogs praise and deserve it. But article finishes with this line.

You’d be hard-pressed on current form to tip any of the Victorian-based sides to go deep into September.

WTF who writes this rubbish. Just noticed the Port line too. Crikey.

To say Richmond has bottomed out in record pace, is putting it lightly

This Collingwood side are not world beaters, but Richmond are putrid. They will have a goal diff of less than 60 by seasons-end at this rate.

EDIT: Can we try and steal Balta or Gibcus pls?
Richmond have not bottomed out yet. They could lose half a dozen very good players this off season

Sydney’s game day thread is good too. Talking about how they’re leaving the footy in the 3rd qtr today and don’t turn up if their team doesn’t 😂

One team with percentage between 70 and 100. The story of the season.

Tell us all again how teams outside victoria are hard done by

The ongoing discussion just annoys the hell out of me. When non-Melbourne teams have been good enough, they've won flags. All these other issues people go on about are superfluous. There are just as many advantages as there are disadvantages, and in the final wash-up, most times the two more deserving teams play in the GF.

As for Victorian clubs having the advantage because the GF is played on the MCG:
1992, 1994 - West Coast defeated Geelong.
1997, 1998 - Adelaide defeated St.Kilda and North Melbourne
2001 - Brisbane Lions defeated Essendon.
2002, 2003 - Brisbane Lions defeated Collingwood.
2012 - Sydney defeated Hawthorn
2018 - West Coast defeated Collingwood.

From 1992 to 2012, non-Victorian clubs won 11 flags in 21 seasons, even though there are most Victorian clubs than interstate. From 1991 to current, 26 non-Victorian clubs have played in the Grand Final for 12 flags. As we speak the top 3 teams on the ladder are non-Victorian, and two others are in the top 8.

People can crap on about this all they like, but the facts remain, if you're good enough, you'll have success, irrespective of your geographical location.

Pendles going on for another year apparently... good idea or one year too many? Still gets a bit of it, but gonna be another year slower. I can see an early retirement on the cards if the decline keeps going at its current trajectory, as I don't know if he'd want to languish in the 2's.

I think there's quite a few that should be hanging up the boots at the Pies. Pendles could be one of them, but I'd trust him to know his body and what the right call is there.

That said, trends in the game over the past few years mean losing running pace as a midfielder is a far bigger deal than ever before. With teams like ours stacking half forward and half back lines with pacey, line-breaking gut-runners it's not like you can really hide those slowing older players on flanks anymore as they'll just get run-off.

They have really built across the year. Lobb down back is a stroke of pure luck/genius
IMO Ramma can play this same role very well for us. He is a good mark and agile to boot.

When Reeves was our No:1 ruck, I was hoping Meek could do the role Lobb does now.

As it turns out, nothing. The MRO rated the strike to Moore as a greater fine.
MRO is legitimately cooked. Suspending blokes for footballing acts like a tackle and then letting an elbow to the head go.
Intentional, medium impact, high contact...it literally has to be 2 weeks by their own rules lol

And even if you go low impact it's still a week for intentional and high.

Not if you just call it "Engaging in a melee" and wash your hands of it!

I’ve seen it a little bit but needs a lot more strength for it at afl, his building towards it though. lobb is very mobile for his size though, his genuinely huge.
