Lads/lasses, the mrs and I are coming over to melbs for the dees/essington game - which end does the cheer squad normally sit? Would prefer to be closer to our nuffies than their nuffies. Thanks in advance
At a home game, the punt road end

lmao all 17 clubs have a representative, half are interstate and no one from our club could rock up

I could guarantee you there would be plenty of fans who'd give anything to go to the Hall of Fame function on behalf of the club

Wait, Dayne Swan's in there?
The guy who beat the shit out a cleaner for fun and then refused to pay damages ordered by the court?

The ****'s going on. They said Wayne Carey couldn't get in, Ablett Senior, what about character grounds?

K Maybe bullet dodged there.

Think Ablett and Carey are in the HoF but just unlikely to be elevated to legends.

Lol just saw this quote from an article on the AFL site.

Swan didn't play a single senior game in his first year at the Pies, falling to the Williamstown reserves' bench at one point when he was late for a game, and played just three in his second year when he found late-night trouble at the end of a season, and heavy negative publicity around a court case.

"I got into trouble and I got called into the club with my manager and my dad and I sat there and listened to all the things I wasn't doing properly and all the things that were reasons why my career could be over at that point, after three games before it had even really started," he recalls.

"Mick spoke last, and he said he wasn't going to end my career because of a really bad mistake and getting myself into trouble, perhaps because he had the same background as me as a kid. But he said it was time I repaid his faith and proved whether I could be a player or not.

That is one hell of a way to brush past what he did.

Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where George is dating the woman who just says 'yada yada yada' so she doesn't have to mention she committed theft.

Pretty clear example of overboarding...
Vic Uni is funny.
Few years ago I enrolled in a summer course for a bit of fun, was a music thing that was supposed to cost a couple of grand.
There was a problem with my enrolment though, I tried to tell the lecturer but he said just ignore it so I did.
Sat the exam, got the certificate and results, and didn't pay a cent, didn't even get an email or call from them.

Thanks Roff!

Should've made some noise about it! :madv1:

Shaun Smith still blaming the world for his sons mistakes.

I enjoyed this part especially

WorkSafe chief executive Joe Calafiore confirmed to Peter Jess, who lodged the complaint of an unsafe workplace on behalf of Shaun Smith, that he had referred Smith’s complaint to the investigation and safety teams.

“WorkSafe will now respond,’’ Mr Calafiore said.

It is at least the third time Jess has made such a complaint to WorkSafe, which is obliged to investigate all such claims. In previous claims, it has found no safety concerns.

If you don't get the result you want just keep complaining until you do.

"I reject your reality and substitute it for my own"

Reckon Shaun might be projecting with how erratic he has been acting...
The bits where he essentially admits Joel wants nothing to do with him is genuinely sad.

On the other hand as bad as a mistake as Joel has made I can't imagine anything worse than one of my parents trying to fight my battles by publicly bringing up my worst mistake every few months and calling me a druggy and potential dealer in the paper.

Could this have been any shitter of a season lol. 2-4 against the current top 8 and the wins were Port and Geelong who could easily be out of the 8 this week. When the dogs and Brisbane and up in it'll be 1-5 and the dogs win is meaningless so we haven't beaten a top 8 side this year basically 🥳
