Sorry if this has already been answered, when do the final Sunday line-ups with final interchange and emergencies get named? Looked on the afl website and it still has the extended sunday benches. Thanks

They have already been leaked online mostly, just not updated as yet on the AFL website. If you are interested in a particular club do a google and head for a dedicated fan website or try the forums here on bigfooty. Edit: try the club websites as well.

Thanks very much. So do you now if for example, Ledger is named on the bench to play...;)

Yep the St Kilda website has the team up and Ledger is on the bench and looks as if he's not a sub as well. :thumbsu:

Subs can be named from anywhere (Gunston got named a sub after being named on the field, for instance). Just in case someone makes a decision based off the above.

Does anyone have any idea why the SuperFooty page doesn't work on one of my computers and just constantly shows the boxes loading? The funny thing is it has worked before (probably about 20% of the time) and works on my other computer. I've tried it in different browsers but still nothing. This is what it looks like:

I see. I'm guessing I don't if there's nothing next to there name. Want to trade out Hampton but only letting me select Forwards, frustrating. Will have to stick with him.

Yep, you can only trade out a player for someone of the same line he's in. The only exception is if you have a second player who can move into the line of the player you're trading out, in which case you can fill the slot of that second player, i.e. trade out Hampton, move Smedts from DEF to FWD even if you don't have any other DEF/FWDs, trade in a defender.

anyone know if herald sun gold is selling well for them?

Even if it is, I doubt they've impressed many people. Ill be spending a lot more time on the Age website once my 2 months is up.

What is the basic idea to upgrading your rookies? I gather you're supposed to get them in before the price rise, then when they all go up in price you can trade them and use the extra cash to buy premiums; should you hang on to some for the season, or just trade them all out as soon as you see fit?

Also, how often do players prices change? Is it weekly or just periodically? I assume if you hang onto some for too long, they will end up coming back down in price if they hit a slump, so is it a case of trading them when you think their value has peaked?

Any help appreciated :thumbsu:

All players first experience a price change after playing their third game for the season. From then on, they are re-priced every week.

Yes, the idea is to trade out rookies for cash when they peak in price. Some will perform better than expected, so you may consider keeping them as a dependable emergency or even as last player on a line. Any that you do keep will most likely fluctuate in price.

More often than not, you need to upgrade two rookies per premium. If a rookie increases in price by $250K+ (ie. averaging say 70+ pts), you'd he pretty happy with that. So then you can sell 2 x 350K rookies for a 600K premium and a new 100K rookie. Plenty won't make that much though.

traditionally i think the basic strategy is when rookies have peaked you trade one down to another rookie who has played 2 games and trade one up to a premium or one that's lost a little bit of value depending on how much the rookies have made.

www.tooserious.net is the site you're after which will tell you what price a certain player will fluctuate by. the longer a rookie stays in negative figures under the 'break even' column the better. the 'break even' column shows what a player needs to score to maintain his current value. once the break even is approaching their average score for the year, that's when you know they're ripe. :thumbsu:

of course, the timing will not always be right in regards to having a rookie peaking at the same time as another rookie just finished his 2nd game, but that site will do more than help you into making an informed decision against what their scoring power might be over their next run of games and various other factors.

When you have a league that is not full by the round 1 lockout, it gets filled by randoms right. So what I am interested to know is am I likely to be a random in someone elses league that I dont know about? They couldn't have EXACTLY the right amount to fill all the leagues, so I can only assume that they just use anyone randomly, and they wouldnt even know they are in it.

If you are not in any other league you will be put in one which needs to be filled automatically.

You will know the league they put you in, as it will show up in the league section of your SC page. Chances are you will be put in a public league, made up of others without a league of there own, but some will be put into private leagues that have not been filled by the start of round 3.
