Yeah, ban the victim of bigotry, not the bigot who launched a tirade of hate and broke several bigfooty rules in the process :thumbsu: Do whatever you have to do Fyfie, I am sick of all your threats already

The closest he went to breaking a rule was calling you a dickhead, which considering your posting, was a pretty appropriate response.

I don't get "fashion" but I'm unfashionable.

Is it really any dumber though than watching 40 blokes chase a leather ball around for hours?

Fashion generally overvalues it's cultural significance, particularly within the wide framework of the arts.

Sport serves a different purpose in society, it's comparing apples and oranges.

Source? Don't just make stuff up that sounds cool in an attempt to justify your dislike of a particular art form. Just a tip, if you are going to attempt to appear intelligent, don't do a Jade's and add superfluous apostrophes to your sentences.

The only purpose sport as a form of entertainment provides is to promote tribalism and allow underachievers to vicariously bask in the glory of others. Fashion is participatory and expressive. Everyone makes fashion statements, not just designers and models - even if their particular fashion statement is simply "I am an indifferent bogan", they are still expressing themselves via their choice in clothing.

You just summed up the pointlessness of fashion, the fact that it even pretends to be anything more proves my above statement.

T2M, I pronounce you the King of Gen Y.

Regicide is imminent.

Yeah sure, generalise about a whole group of people based upon your tiny limited observations and just form whatever perverted fallacious conclusion you want! Disgusting.
Gold. 18 to 24 year old girls are so slutty. Everyone of them love an older man with money.. Fact no tiny observation here

No thanks, I don't like that title. It is too patriarchal and authoritarian.

Some do, I know a few who are younger than me (80s GenYer) who do but I wouldn't say it's a fact. A lot of my mates are settling down at the moment with their missus's who are of similar age or are like 2-3 years younger.

He might be more inclined to go easy on you if he saw you contributing something positive to a thread for a change. Trolling is fine if you balance it out with saying something insightful or funny from time to time..... and no, reminding us how much you love Twilight won't cut it I'm afraid.

Gen Y isn't so bad. We have it a touch harder given the actual cost of living these days and the wages not really rising to match it.

While Gen Z will be even worse off again, they're also going to be complete assholes.

My kids are in Gen Z so they'll obviously be totes superior to Gen Y.

See what I did there? I used the word totes. That's the only thing Gen Y have come up with that's their own, and now that I've proven we too can use it, even though it's a totes shitballs term anyway, it's no longer unique.

I can't like this post enough Jimmy and leave my mobile at home twice a week to enjoy the peace. Something Gen Y'ers would never imagine doing.

Also, I assume the picture was taken on a mobile?
Read earlier in the thread where I explained that a group of us EXACT thing that Jimmy is doing.
We are all well entrenched in gen-Y
Snap judgements and stereotypes are something we can blame Baby Boomers for, and the I-I-I nature did not start with us either, that had some serious momentum before we were even twinkles in our parents eyes.

Blaming everyone else. Such a Gen Y thing.

No one says totes, once again old people write those shitty tv shows you watch.

Dude, I go two days a week without a mobile. I don't just put it down for dinner then check messages and updates afterwards, I turn it off and leave it home and go out to enjoy life. As I said, gen y would never even think of doing that.

Well actually I've done that too.
Generally get in trouble with the missus though, shes a hard task master.

They need to be spoonfed everything and struggle to have a single meaningful thought of their own coz they're too scared to voice it.
You;ve got to show constant comforting and reassurance, and when they are doing great they seem to expect some sort of reward like a puppy dog in training.
So timid and conservative, they even struggle to socialise with anyone older with the experience at work coz its like they cant wait to get home to their little playstation caves or whateva the F else they do when they leave. Even the 25yo's mainly live with their parents and dont even see that as embarassing. They seem scared to make even a normal mistake even tho they keep being told thats how everyone learns.
So damn conservative and seem to laugh at the most cringeworthy shit.

I honestly dont have a problem with them...i just think they're fken useless thats all ;)

Grumpy oldies bitching about younger generations.
Has always been thus.

I have a bit to do with them and really don't have a problem with them.
Sure they're wedded to technology, but that's a product of the times.

Bosses who complain in general terms about their employees perhaps need look no further than their own leadership qualities. People who complain about the next generation perhaps need to examine their own parenting.

My own Gen Y child is respectful, motivated, independent and a high achiever who needs no pushing, much like most of her friends as far as I am aware. Sure she has some annoying teenage traits, but definitely less than I had. They certainly don't seem as rebellious as Baby boomers or Gen Xs were.

Yep, I'm generally pretty pleased with Generation Y.

The ironing in this sentence is pretty amusing. :D

Nah, seriously dude that was a quality post. You're right, this generation has more than its share of issues - we can only hope as they age they grow in confidence and learn their place in the world. (bottom of the food chain, sipping on the Baby Boomers' dregs that is)

Pfft... all these people talking about taking a few hours off their phones to "live life"... what a soft effort. You know what I did? I bought my phone two years ago, right, and I just left it in the box. Just left it there. I don't need it, I'm not tied to my phone like some gen y wannabe living his life through his tweeterer and his facebooker, I just left it in the box.

That's how tough I am.

Yeah but dude, when you start getting older you quickly realize there aren't a hell of a lotta perks that come from aging. The whole process of watching your body and even mind slowwwwwly breaking down year by year feels incredibly cheesy and lame and if hanging shit on the younger generations helps us feel a tiny bit better about it then ****it, I'm all for it.

Does it suck for younger generations when their elders seem to be constantly bitching about them? Of course it does, I copped exactly the same shit when I was a kid/teen/young adult so you better believe I'm not gonna miss my chance for a little payback! (truthfully the real payback will be smirking and grinning while we let the Baby Boomers rot in old folk's homes)
