Well yes if that is what you personally want. See for me one whale was this:

When I was in America in 2000 I bought the white version, but due to limited funds I held back on buying this. Then by the time I realised I really wanted one the team had changed their designs and it became nearly impossible to find one that was legitimate.

However this weekend gone as part of the Ducks 20th anniversary they wore this:

which happened to be a Reebok Edge version but they also made these available through the online shop (rather than the edge version):

and now $200 later, sometime soon I will have one of my whales.

You still got it cheap, most places here in the States charge USD 350 (minimum) for them. You got a bargain, they changed because Disney owned the rights to the design and gave up team ownership. Sure enough they won the following season just like their baseball neighbors under (then) new non-Disneyesque logo branding.
