He’s a very good player that should be kept on the list if we can, just laughable that GC don’t want him.

In their midfield he would be a wonderful asset, and has the leadership qualities that they are screaming out for.

That list appeals to the Bigfooty mafia who want to see everyone who isnt named Joel and Patrick off the list and "sleeping with the fishes" somewhere off Corio.

In the real world atleast half of those names wont be off the list next year. Not unless we get good value for them in a trade.

Could easily get up to 10 if we were landing all of our other targets and had a couple of decent picks to take into the draft as a result, such as:

No contracts - Lang, Ruggles, Hayball

Trade bait ahead of contracts ending next year - Murdoch, GHS

Already done - Cowan, Mackie, Lonergan

FA - Motlop, Menzel

Potential rookie departures - Henry

That’s 11.

Other names could also be in scope but most likely next year when at end of contract as little to no trade value now (unless thrown in as steak knives to clear spots / little cap space) - eg Black + injury prone types such as McCarthy

Agree though - highly unlikely that 10 went out this year- but it’s not hard to pick the quarter of the list that will be on the way out over the next couple of years.......

They're better for him. Both club and player with off field issues. If he fulfills his potential they make top 4 next year in this weakened competition where 1 win makes the difference.

But if he wants his life sorted out and back on track we are the obvious choice even for less $

We should keep GHS because of his leadership ability and due to his tiny contract in terms of $$ he isn't bad to have around helping the VFL lads mature. Similarly why I want Ruggles around because while he isn't the most skilled, he can teach the kids to show some brute and adds a bit of grunt.
