Sounds about right but regardless Gung: and I do say this 'every year', that when a player makes known that Geelong is his destination club and Geelong privately behind the scenes have committed to him, then the Cats hierarchy will get the job done. They have a proven 100% record regardless of what discussion may be spoken about pics and the exchange of pics. So the real question is, will Smith nominate Geelong and are Geelong committed to him and from all normal reliable sources, it appears to be so..... and if so, then Smith WILL be a Geelong player. GO CATS !!!

Technically he had to pay for the pub so $4,499,999.00 before you start counting the losses the pub makes

On the open market I'd say yes, keeping inline with Geelong's pay structure I'd say it's about right. It's believed Holmes got 4 years at $800,000 with an option for 2 year extension. Stengle got 5 for about the same. Going back to Bailey's 2021 finals form, you could argue he deserves more but that was 3 years ago.
We don't pay anyone above our pay structure to avoid upsetting the apple cart.

, we were very keen when he was available in the pre draft thing. He obviously is very injury riddled but I wouldn’t be totally opposed. He’d be cheap and has lots of talent not too much of a downside.
Maybe he gets his body right and can find a spot in the team.
