Excellent observation F2G, spot on and along with his extremely poor turnovers under 'no pressure' at times was his major downfall. Brendan really should have gone on to be an excellent AFL player, such a shame but he brought it on himself.

He was deceptively hard to catch thought as he was a very nippy zig zag type of a player. He ran in circles a bit more than straight lines.

Carlton, Fogarty was an important part of their team last year before he got hurt. Rest dead.
Easy on Tiger, he'd still be the 18th to 22nd bloke picked in there.
I think sometimes people see that a player is Aboriginal and assume automatically that he must be a small, evasive, zippy forward.

This was runoured to be part of the driver of the Eagles recruitment team not pursuing Humphries.
Eh, Humphries came from the clouds. I wouldn't put too much creedence in those rumours

Don't forget though that Humphries was part of WCEs academy, and they bought him to Perth to complete his schooling & train further under their watch
Not sure he's exactly come from the clouds, but maybe they misread what type of player he was
It was an absolute Barry Crocker of an effort by West Coast's WA talent scout to let Humphries go to another club.
Hopefully I can say the same thing about St Kilda and Hofmann in the future.
Sure, but that was a while ago and clearly nobody thought he was AFL talent then.

Spot on, and this is why guys like Brad Close go unappreciated by fans, because he just does what he needs to - sees and option and hits it. He might not break tackles, baulk the opponent, or go on a dashing run but he always uses it well and swiftly.
Totally agree , the very definition of a role player is our Brad.
As I've said on many occasions great things happen when he is around the footy , one of my favourites
Most of the aboriginal boys are exciting and electric players. There are a few who arent, but for the most part they bring incredibly exciting traits to our game
Aboriginals are somewhat more athletic and better suited to playing both footy codes of AFL and NFL in Australia compared to the rest of us Aussies. As an example, there's 8% of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander players in the AFL compared to 3.8% of the total Australian population. But also 'surprisingly' to my understanding that there is 12% Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander that play in the NRL..... so the boys sure can play footy!
It seems to be very rare that you find imdigenous boys who are kp sized players, mostly seem to be forwards or mids

Haha Reid will net them a massive trade. He was the right call to draft no matter what happens.
Ahh McClure moving the goalposts, first he said North didn't have to worry because WCE wouldn't take him, now McClure is saying "OH YEAH BUT WHAT I MEANT WAS HARLEY WILL EVENTUALLY LEAVE".
West Coast didn't bring Humphries to Perth. His family applied for an Indigenous scholarship at Hale School to give him a better education. West Coast didn't know anything about him until he was selected in the Flying Boomerangs whilst attending Hale School

We lost our head of recruiting who went to Freo last year so the Wells diamonds in the WA rough might be most for a while.
You can’t lose key pieces like that and not skip a beat.
That said.. Lawson is still one of the best WA pulls on Wells score card and he’s a ripping kid
