This is the only way I see us not losing 2 1st's and coming out half fair.Then they can give 12 to Brisbane for Schacke.Maybe just a player swap to avoid #12 going around in a circle?
Got to involve multiple players and Brisbane for us to have a fair trade to get Gibbs.

We offered a first and a third last year, a first and a second would've got done last year but we walked away. If we're preparef to offer that this year it should have been offered last year.

It'll be either pick 16 this year plus our 2018 first with carltons 2018 2nd coming back, or pick 10 this year, 2018 first next year and Carltons 2018 first coming back.

He is such a dumbbell, who wanted it to be seen as "Crows offer big $$$", player accepts less to play for "Port Adelaide Culcha", that he may, just may, have put pressure on Port to increase their offer to Motlop.
Even now he's gone to Port, I actually don't mind him as a player. He is disliked by Geelong supporters and seen as a serial underperformer, but part of that is because they can identify his obvious talent and expect more.
if Port can get more out of him then it will be a win for them. More of the same from him and it's a loss.

Cant negotiate with unreasonable people. They are not serious about moving in younger talent if they are going with this shit. Time to walk away but i doubt we wasted much time on it. If they come grovelling later in the week, would stitch that prick sos up well and truly.

Carlton originally wanted out first and either Gov or CC as well. We said no. We offered our first and Lyons which they said no to. They then said two firsts. We offered a first and a third and they said no, we also offered a first and a second and they said no.

A bigger deal out west.
Without a doubt, Rockliff would have killed it here. Now whether we wanted to add another slow midfielder is a more pertinent question seeing how crippling a slow midfield can be.
Motlop would have been an improvement on Cameron in terms in performance, but would have been off set by Motlop soaking up much more cap space making us the losers in that deal despite the slight on-field improvement.

Gibbs will not make much difference on their ladder position next year. They need to maximise their return for him now or they will get a jordan lewis, sam mitchell trade for him in the future. Pick 16 is overs, well and truly. If they want more than that they are just wasting time.

And then the AFL gave Geelong an extra first rounder for **** knows why, and we were left looking like idiots.
Carlton don't need success. We do. They can keep huim and it doesn't matter. But we need to get better, because Gibbs is aging at the same rate as Sloane, Betts, Tex, Jenkins, etc.

We can say we want 2 firsts for cc. Doesnt mean anyone is doing that deal. They are playing the oldest trick in the book. Come to us when your serious about doing a deal.

We can, because we've already traded in Melbourne's 2018 1st as a replacement.
We can, but we won't. We would be monumentally stupid to agree to such a deal. Noble might do it, Reid has a backbone and certainly won't.
