Strongwoman is wasted on these tiny little contestants.

She's like some gorgeous beast, I wanted to see her throw a car or something. Loved her smiling at the 2nd chick as she yanked her off.

I don't get why they bringing these random 'temps' for events against challengers/contestants when they have a locker room full of gladiators doing nothing.

Of course the strongman and strongwoman were going to dominate that event. What was the point? To show the viewers a squash match (wrestling term, look it up). The male challenger that actually stayed on and tied the strongman should of got 10 points for his effort.

I've missed two episodes so far in the series and i don't think i've seen Maximus, Raven and Viking yet.
For the women, I'm sick of seeing Chaos doing mutiple events every week when there are other gladiators not being utilised.

And please for the love of god get rid of the cringe locker room cuts. Both contestants and Gladiator locker rooms. Channel 10 have already made the decision to burn off the series as quickly as possible. It should be edited further to get it to 1 hour total with ads.

Just watching last nights as I still refuse to watch this unless I'm getting paid at the same time.

These randoms been more involved than half the gladiators for the series. Comical. Surely one of the gladiators could pull the challenger off.

And then why a random quarter final rather than the actual final. Just weird.

I watched the 2 BBC episodes on Youtube today - couldn't be more easily available.

Man the UK version just seems so fun.

I did the same today and I concur with the similar thoughts of many. The UK reboot is great and Channel 10 are so stupid not to consider filming at the Sheffield locations.

Firstly the sets are already built. All they would need to do is hire the sets and people/riggers to set up for the Australian season as they currently do for the British season. The Brits would absolutely be open to the idea to share the location/sets/IP because of the potential Ashes season spinoff, where the finalists of each country gladiators season face-off which each other.

I also agree that even filming an Australian season of gladiators in UK will still draw a crowd. These tapings are free. People will always turn up for free TV tapings.

For all the things 10 have botched with this version, they’ve done a pretty good job with The Edge, which is probably the best new Gladiators game since Pendulum on the original UK version.

Also looks like our contenders were willing to take a few more risks on The Edge as opposed to the UK version, but that’s probably due to the fact our version is only suspended 5 metres up in the air.

Also no limit on the scoring on our version - the UK version is capped at 6 crossings (or 18 points as they award 3 points per crossing)

Tee should be a gladiator. She great at most of the events. Her weakness has always been the eliminator.

The ratings went further south last night, being outrated by the Governor General’s address on the ABC apparently.

On the positive side, episode 3 of the UK version airs overnight tonight.

Also, interestingly one of the designers from the UK version also designed the logo and branding for our version as well. Again, just goes to show how much channel 10 really ****ed this up.

Janice face plant on travelator was very funny.

Look I admire her heart, but she doesn’t have the physical attributes to be a gladiator. She doesn’t have the strength for the duel, tilt, rip off opponents in hang tough. And not sure she would be good at her size in tackling events like pyramid and powerball. She fast on the wall but when the roles are reversed is she strong enough to rip off challengers on the wall, even if she catches them.

The correct contestants won the series. Male eliminator final was best in the series.

The male Gladiators suck at Hang Tough. He can get some tips from Delta and be the best at the game.

I didn't mind the season. Not sure it'll ever match the hype of the 90's series. Lots of guff in the episodes though. After 2 or 3 I started recording them and skipping the non-event stuff and was getting through eps in under 20 minutes.

Not sure if it got mentioned at all in here, and it makes a lot of sense given "reality tv" always has their favourites. But did anyone else feel like certain contenders got a lot more of a cushy run? There was one episode that Tee was in and they gave her the most useless/inexperienced Gladiator in every single event. I nearly fell off my chair laughing when the first contender had to do Whiplash against Chaos and barely moved her, then Tee lines up for Whiplash and they pit her against the lightest (and one of the most useless) Gladiator on the whole roster.

Like, carrrrrrrrn. If you don't want Chaos doing a 30 second event twice, either put them both against smaller Glads, or at least toss in one of the larger female Glads.

There are certain things out of their control like contenders falling off the wall and basically the whole Eliminator. But by golly it felt like I was watching WWE at times when one Gladiator is yanking the life out of one chick on the wall while the other tickles their contender's shoe gently. Or in the final, Cyclone I think it was just slowly lumbering up the Pyramid after Kelani with zero intent whatsoever.

I've been binge watching the UK version this weekend - I totally forgot about when our series ended.

Man I love the campiness of this, it does such a better job of reprising that mid-90s fun than ours did. The slow-mo when people take big falls or bumps is amazing
