Goal Umpire has done his knee

I thought he was just being a typical soft**** overacting goal umpire at first.

Then I saw the replay and realised it was a serious injury, he actually coped with it pretty well all things considered. Respect.

Hopefully he recovers quickly and is waving those white flags again.

Probably for the same reason highly paid TV stars moonlight as club presidents - they love the game

Running a club you love is a bit different from being a goal umpire.

Surely the first and last time we will hear that word from you with regards to umpires, Plugger. Moment in BF history

This is why women shouldn't be allowed to be goal umpires.

Maybe that's why it took so long to get the stretcher out. Most of them are reserved for the women and children.

It's nowhere near that much. Their all paid the same rates.
No. It's that much

Umpires have struck a deal that will have the top earners among their ranks making as much as $150,000 per season by 2016.
That would include bonus payments for field umpires who officiate in finals and the grand final.
Top boundary and goal umpires will make about $60,000.
The five-year agreement includes a backdated seven per cent pay rise for this year, with further five, four, three and three per cent increases over the next four seasons

He hardly looked in pain though for a bloke who's clearly snapped his knee.
I've had a Medial tear, surprisingly not that painful. Freaky to hear the "pop" though and feel the pull.
Even ran the game out...

... until I woke up in the middle of the night in agony, even a sheet moving on my leg hurt. Lack of bloodflow means it takes ages to swell up.

Rehab was a b!tch - can't imagine doing a full ACL/PCL rehab, feel sorry for the bloke.
