Danger absolutely reamed us. Did Pyke put anyone's on him? Pretty much won the game for them.

All our assistant coaches were picked up from cheap as chips. Ben Hart has pineapple banged our forward line. Betts can't kick a goal to save his life.
Dmac back to his 12 disposal standard.

Worst of all that fraud Chapman is still running the scam so nothing will change.

Also the Ogilvie handjobs that get given out around here are unwarranted. Consistently recruits players with no composure. In fact we don't have a single composed player on the list. Maybe Milera, but he chose us.

I dont recall our movement into the F50 being this bad in 2017. We attacked the goal mouth a lot more and created space for Tex, Jenkins and Eddie.to move into.

Personally feel this is s change in philosophy by Ben Hart.

For some reason we want to sit the ball on our forwards heads and except them to take pack marks all game when both JJ and Tex are not that player. And to make matters worse are smalls are never front and square of the pack.
The coaches should know what is going wrong as they know what they are trying to do with the forward setup and entires.
The fact nothing has changed for weeks is a worry. Around the ground we are at least breaking even but such don’t look like kicking a winning score.

Je
One player is mobile & the other isn't.

Fog should come in for Walker who doesn't even look dangerous.

You are kidding yourself if you think he is playing better than JJ who whilst isn't great isn't a complete liability
Jenkins is the bigger forward. He needs to play in front and attack the ball. If he's not, he's not a good enough second ruck to justify the turnovers in the forward line. Walker is a liability but you can allow him the luxury of staying on the ground because he can finish and has better skills. Where he struggles is when Jenkins is being ineffective, lazy and looking for cheap goals, because he has to go against his man and JJ's plus the spare, because Jenkins is crowding the space yet again. Up the ground, one on one? Much better.

The sheer laziness of Bryce Gibbs, a highly paid, senior AFL player that we paid a premium price for is disgusting. Simply unforgivable and should result in a week in the twos if we had any courage.
When he had the ball at half back, turned sideways, off one step kicked it to the other half back flank resulting in a contest. Rather than running three or four steps and kicking where he would have cleared the Geelong player and hit up Atkins. What a lazy dumb arse. Then his horrible kick outs.

You can forgive one stuff up, but he made five or six fundamental rookie errors. Must be dropped.

Of FFS, don’t blame the club. He is the coach. Do you think Clarkson is hampered by the Hawthorn board? Was Blight restricted when he turfed Bones and A Jarman? Sorry but he is weak and history will show he was a nothing coach because he had no spine.

You think pyke is happy working with all those assistants and Burton etc?
Pykes one request was he wanted sumich, was told no by the board, end of story.

Our 2017 game plan was great in (most of) 2017. Seems teams have worked out they need to defend usdeep, and we thought we didn’t need to change. Hawks and cats both beat us with deep defence and quick burst scoring. Ironically much like us in 2017.

How many times did we hit the post?

As bad as our forward play was we had about five chances on goal in that quarter that ended in points and one rank out on the full.

In a tight game against a genuine contender shit like that is expensive.

Good:
- Sloane.
- B. Crouch
- Keath did some good things again.
- ROB, although not brilliant showed us what a ruckman with some presence after the initial tap work might look like.
- The guy driving the stretcher buggy.

Bad:
- Where to start?
- The number of times we kicked it to the wrong hoops.
- My growing apathy.

Ugly:
- Umpiring, including umpire #12 being entirely unwilling to call for a stop to play when the stretcher came on the ground. Bordering on negligence.

They're scarred mate, just like most of us after the 2017 GF.
Don't recover from something like that unless you have a total cleanup.

Nailed it. We're absolutely scarred.

I feel like shaking them and saying, Guys, wake TF up. The worst has already happened. You don't need to be scared of it anymore. It already ****ing happened. You have nothing left to lose.

Did anyone see Mackay hit a Geelong player6 lace out when going i50? Was classic Dave Mackay. You just know when he goes to dispose of the ball that it isn't going to a crows player.
I thought his best moment was when he was in a marking contest with Stanley. Instead of conceding the mark and standing the mark to stop the quick play on, he ran hard under the ball so that Stanley could turn and run the ball down the wing which ended in that Ablett goal in the last. Brilliant dmac.

O'Brien

10 hitouts to advantage from 71 ruck contests, a HTA rate of 14.1% compared to Jacobs' 13.2% in his game. For reference that's higher than Brodie Grundy.

9 effective disposals compared to Jacobs' average of 5.5. 3 marks and 3 tackles is the same total as Jacobs in two games. Equivalent meters gained. 1 turnover versus Jacobs' 3 for the season. Same score involvements.

Surprisingly, O'Brien has already had more effective kicks than Jacobs this season.

Not a bad start for a bloke that was apparently getting "smashed" according to some in the game day thread
