No surprise, really, but Ch9 FS has given the Crows scant recognition for the win.
Apparently the Dogs played badly, their forwards didn't try, the Coach has lost the plot etc etc.

Frampton was mentioned but only as if to say the Dogs played so poorly he was made to look like a star.
Kornes: "The Dogs were beaten by a bottom-4 side" ... .

Tbh, I'm happy that the Crows are flying under their VFL-radar. Others can now underestimate the Crows at their own peril.

Edit: by contrast, PA are "back"
Pretty much why I don't watch any footy media

Credit to brownie. He has become a more defensive player in recent years which I think has reduced his influence on the game but his nullifying of Cody weightman was a significant part of our victory

He has blanketed a few players this year to very good effect
?

He's always been a good lockdown defender.

Great game, lots of great efforts in the last, Keays, Berry, Murphy, McHenry, Jones, ROB, Tex with the last goal. Edit. Actually I’ve missed a heap.

But the ****ing bad, the ****ing awful, the ****ing horrendous:

Dwayne “the breeze” Russell. Shut up you ****wit. It wasn’t a big deal, teams scored against it, Bulldogs didn’t score a goal with it in the second you ****ing moron.

He got the direction of the breeze wrong a few times as well. Had no idea

Just read through the WB board, was encouraged to see that a lot of them are giving a fair bit of credit our way.

TBH I'll take it considering we're the 2 clubs are at. Still think their club has the talent, but really starting to believe that our club has a double dose of heart!
I did the same thing, not a single bit of shade thrown our way, was quite classy actually.

Why bother. According to Kornes, Bulldogs form and start to the season is far more concerning than Ports.

Yep, Bulldogs beat Sydney, beat Roos, with key young players out more concerning than Port who just beat West Coast and main outs are blokes over 30.

You’d say par results:
Losses to Adelaide each
Beat West Coast/Roos
Both lost to Melbourne
Both lost to Carlton

Port lost to a better side in Brisbane than Bulldogs did against Richmond, so that’s +1 in Ports favour

But, here’s the biggy, the other result was Port humiliated in the Russell Ebert tribute game against Hawthorn, whereas Bulldogs beat a top 4 side in Sydney. That’s +9 in bulldogs favour.

Doggies are way ahead of Port. I know which time I’d be backing to win a flag in the next 5 years.

But which one will win 3 of the next 4?

Noticed our positioning of players around the contest was great. Very well drilled & key to applying pressure & not allowing the Bullies midfield off the lead.
Sooo much better than the earlier rounds.

Probably not related, but Godden was at the game. Was VB? Who coached the SANFL?

This is an interesting one as Godden was also there last game - VB gave the report on Thilthorpe also

Odd

They swapped roles yesterday as VB couldn't travel.

Think we may be starting to see the impact of new assistants...

Only been through a few pages but how nobody has mentioned Nicks' coaching effort as a massive win is beyond me.

He took us in with a plan, stuck to it, and executed against a fairly quality side.

First time yesterday that I've seen something different, and it worked.

Salient point.

More so with the fact that Bevo made mention of Adelaide's ability to suffocate them and not allow them to at their natural game.

Nicks has the tick in the man management and team culture boxes. If he can tick the tactical nous and game day coaching boxes we have a pretty good senior coach

So my opinion from being there today conditions were perfect and absolutely no reason either side should have disposed and kicked for goal as badly as they did. Apologies if some has been alluded to I’ve had beers and just got home

Frampton was huge in the backline one of if not bog for us today but Butts deserves a shit load of applause for his game. Nullified Naughton throughout.

O’Brien was good today. Albeit against opposition he should have been but was still very good.

Rachele whilst quiet was clean with the majority of his touches. I think first quarter he scooped one up nearly right in front of me and it was just a silky pick up.

Keays I thought was slow today but maybe that was everyone seemed a lot of players who weren’t quiet there today from both crows and dogs and he was one.

McAdam just needs to nail some set shots and will be a dangerous player.

Jones was good I thought. Made a lot of contests and offered a decent attack the other way.

Brown didn’t let Weightman near the ball all day. Full credit to him for his game.

Cook is classy and gets to the right spots. Not sure if he needs to be used more or the opposite he needs to find/demand it more.

Scholl was good across the other wing.

Laird/Crouch were themselves. Didn’t appear to have a massive effect on the game but weren’t passengers.

Doedee was good and had some nice intercepts/spoils/contest creating.

Others I can’t begrudge we won. Himmelberg probably the only one just didn’t crash the pack/create the contest enough and was caught lacking on a few occasions.

Otherwise apart from goal kicking a decent enough game.
Keays was in the top 3 players on the ground and drove our midfield all day. It’s a raffle between him, Frampton and Tex as to who was most important in the win.

Just watched the 20 minute mini as i was at work yesterday

Just saw a passage of play where we could have had any of 3 free kicks and got none. I can only imagine how frustrating it was to watch live
Was tough and the umpiring wasnt good BUT it wasnt one of those games where you were focused on them.
our good efforts and work and then messing up in front of goal was the more frustrating point of the game.

O'Brien has to be in the mix, he was HuuuuuuGe yesterday.....Butts not too far off either.

I’ve just watched the McHenry and Rachele and Walker shots in the last 5. McHenry and Rach just butchered their kicks much in the way you described.

Tex’s just bent nicely back in. Wouldn’t have said it was wind assisted what so ever.

I sat on the 50line in the stand right next to the hill and needed more cloud and wind as well. Was considering going for a walk to find some shade somewhere
Tex said straight after the game he used the wind for that kick
