How are we going to get players better than stack and rcd on the list - with the lack of draft picks?
Probably wont get better but there comes a point where you need to decide if these boys are going to make us any better and 4 years looks like a decent amount of time to assess if these 2 can get to another level and if not then what they have showed on a consistent level is not that .

you move on

Stack - Sydney burst onto the scene when we were the only club to give him a chance, and he took it. Unfortunately I don't think footy is his main passion. Seemed to be more interested in doing whatever he wanted (Social media/TikTok/drinking/partying/girls), and got caught up/caught out in some bad situations, and returned from breaks out of shape. I believe he was given plenty of opportunities and support, but for whatever reason it wasn't enough for Sydney. I was of the opinion that we'd re-rookie list him, but I can understand why the club has decided to move on. In my business I've had to let several staff go over the years that were fantastic at their job, but have done stupid things or were upsetting the team balance enough that the feeling around the place becomes tense/toxic... sometimes you've got to make a tough call, and it looks like the Tiges have here. I hope he can pull his finger out and give footy another crack... go back to WA and play WAFL well and see what happens from there... I'm sure we'll hear from him again, I just hope it's at an AFL level, and not in the news for the wrong reasons.
Yep, I'm not there to know, but given his abundant talent I'm surprised how little he impacts on a game. I do wonder whether there have been one those moments you have in a footy Club where those around you go "Nah", and that's kind of it. You see less of the ball, the conversations change, you can actually feel yourself sliding away.

Correct. You look at what the contribution is now, and how consistent is it. Then you assess against what more there could be with all the extra Club resources available. On balance, is the extra worth the commitment of resources. Club has decided to put the resources elsewhere, and they would have good an idea what that all looks like.

No you should have the list as strong as possible in a flag window

You don't work a football club around a single year. Where would any of those four added something to our best 25 next season (as an aside)?

You should when you have late era cotchin martin grimes Riewoldt etc.

It's been shown it takes more than 25 to win , injury can come at once.

Maybe they think they can find kids that improve the list long term. But that seems far fetched in a weak draft pool?

These guys are arguably 39th, 40th, 41st and 42nd. Come on Einstein help us all out with how the Club has got this wrong? How would standing still help the Richmond Football Club. I'll give you the list just to help.....

OK, so you like form over substance then. Here is something you should relate to better then...

You could argue stengle is evidence there is always room for self improvement and reflection.

Life can come at you fast as they say.

If we not as strong as possible in the Dustin martin era what are we doing?

Its not far fetched to see a need for a fit and firing stack in some game.

But yes the list looks competitive so that's nice

No tank

Sumich said he was the most talented WA kid in the draft that year. Unfortunately never had the endurance and the attitude to go with it.

Right move in the end imo
Can’t you build a tank though (assumes he is willing to do it)

Surely if the tank part is what’s missing, that can be solved with time… see Jack Graham. Big beefcake who has become one of our best runners

I think Stack is delisted on attitude

May just be a square peg in a round hole - as good as our inclusiveness is - sometimes things just don't work in parallel.

He could opt to request to train, train hard, give rise to a rethink. The Club has made it clear I'm sure.

You can to an extent (build a tank), but you’ve got to want to, so agree re your point re attitude.

Of the 4 we delisted he’s head and shoulders the most talented. And the only one likely to be picked up. We must have changed our mind on Syd because it wasn’t that long ago that Xav Clarke said he’d go around again

Maybe we can see better options out there to play his role.

Stack
Aarts
RCD
Martyn (see, Sam McClure was right, he just got the spelling wrong)

Take it the Disco Bank.

In before Stack matures, gets picked up by another club, and becomes a star of the comp ala Stengle. I had high hopes for him after he burst onto the scene.
People are going to come up with the old chestnuts, didnt want it enough, lazy, immature, let club down etc and whilst they all may be spot on, this guy had one of the toughest upbringings you can imagine and was surrounded by some of the lowest of lowlifes in that time. Perth Football Club basically had to teach him the everyday things that 99.9% of us take for granted so for him to get to AFL from where he was, is a magnificent achievement and puts a lot of the aforementioned chestnuts as sh*te as he got to AFL thru sheer hard work and guts. He's still a young immature kid with very little formal education and someone I was praying we would persevere with but alas, business comes first

We did when we brought in Taranto and Hopper
