Gotta be Jack's last game

There's no future for the guy at the top level, but having said that I thought he tried hard early, and over the course of his game time he was better than Clarke.

Disagree with that one. Zac Clarke even though hes our 2nd ruckman, has done a better job up Forward than Jack Anthony, this season.

I havent seen either Clarke or Anthony Kick bags of goals, But I have seen Zac Clarke take overhead marks in the Forward 50 and Kick the odd goal or two in a game. Cant say the same thing for Anthony.

Yes! Fremantle should just be a feeder team for other AFL clubs. We take players who are struggling and just keep playing them until they get enough experience and confidence so other teams can take them.

Jack played like a dud, it's not about growing with it, the guy just doesn't want the ball. It is simple. You'd put 5 beers into Chops and tell him he's playing yesterday and he'll still get 15 disposals because he'll want that ball.

As a freo supporter right now I wouldn't even care if a guy clangered it everytime he got it, if he shows endeavor the rest can be worked on. You want tenacity in there, guys who are going to knock 5 guys over to try and get that ball. You want someone who after failing to get the ball hits the ground and just gets angry, demanding more from himself next time. I want players to get angry at the opposition if they block him from getting the ball. Start a melee, show some heart, some passion. We lost a lot when Solomon and Farmer left.

You can also Add Josh and Matt Carr on that list as well.

It seemed From 2009 onwards, we lacked an Enforcer type midfielder.

I wasn't commenting on the season, I was commenting on the game on Saturday. Tell me what Zac had done in the first half on Saturday and how many overhead contested marks he'd taken in the forward 50.

Sounds like Ross is going to persist with him though. Said he wants to pump games in to him. Can't buy experience. more of the same I'm afraid.

I'd have SCOS in the fwd line and a small forward

Surely we'd just give this a crack. My only reservations with Silvagni up front is that he appears to enjoy contesting for the mark and taking it on his chest, which is fine when you're a backman and your opponent is looking to mark, but it's a different matter when you're up front and your opponent can simply spoil. Having said that, SCNOS has taken some great grabs up front, so really, ****ing chuck him up there.

I admire his determination but he probably isn't cut out for the top level. Needs to get to more contests. Still, the amount of hate on this board is staggering.

well said:thumbsu:
Tries his guts out for mine just plain and smiple isnt good enough. Crazy we keep picking him, which isnt his fault

He would smash a few packs - we just need a small there or a faster midfield

Won us a few derbies though.

Yeah he was the only player out there:confused:.
He threw his weight around in one derby. That's about it. Of course, other people may see his value differently to me. He didn't play with even a fraction of the intensity for Freo that he showed when he played for Port. In fact, he was of so little use to us he ended up playing as a small forward instead of a midfielder.

it might be the left-field option that messes enough with their structures. we certainly looked straighter with another tall forward up front. keep crozier as the sub and bring in walters to start. I like the idea of a mosquito attack of ballas, walters and crozier sometime in the second half too, especially if it's free-flowing.

Yeah ok Fair enough you got me there. I will admit that.

Scham look at the big picture. Between Zac Clarke and Anthony whos had a better season?

Who has kicked more goals?

Zac Clarke is the answer to both those questions. The sad thing is that Clarke is a Ruckman and Not a natural Forward. Yet has kicked more goals than Anthony this season.

Who would you rather In as a 2nd forward with Pav? Clarke or Anthony. Id choose Clarke anyday.

Josh Carr was a total waste of space and 3 valuable draft picks. He had absolutely no interest in Freo, he was Port through and through.

Yeah we traded 11, 27 and 43 to get him. Its not Ports Fault we gave that much to get him. Pick 11 was easily good compo to get him. 27 or 43 would of been good to get a good forward or inside mid that year. Carr was on $400,000 a year as well. To Add insult to injury we got another Port player in the PSD, Jarrad Schofield.

Sad thing was Josh Carr played an Important role in our 2006 season. Thank Josh Carr for that both Derby wins in 2006. Thank him for being an important part of that 9 game winning streak to get us to a rare preliminary final.:thumbsu:

I hate Josh Carr for Walking out on us when we needed him but I thank him for 2006 alone.:thumbsu:

Wanted Priddis not Carr. Don't agree that he contributed much to Freo and I didn't care that he left would have just liked to get a draft pick for him. We will have to agreee to disagree on him.

Back on the Jack thing from a Pies supporter perspective he was useful at the best of times and absolutely shithouse at the other end. The final against Adelaide where he got a free kick, that's right he didn't mark it but got a free to kick his 1 goal for the night which just so happened to win us the game was about the only memory I have of him now, ultimately forgettable. He was useful at the time as a replacement for Anthony Rocca but really not sure why Freo picked him up. WAFL standard, sorry Jack.

The Bronx cheers when he marked the ball were shithouse - anyone who had any part of that is a disgrace.

This sort of crowd mentality shit can just destroy a player and why anyone who supports us would want to do this is beyond me.

Here, here! Was a shameful display. These people aren't supporters, they are more like shareholders. Don't build team loyalty with that attitude. If JA has friend in that team, the lack of respect the fans showed him is a reflection of the feeling between the players and their fan base. Why should they put their bodies on the line for us?

Was it definitely bronx cheers or just extra encouragement for a couple of players. the crowd cheered extra loudly for little Crozier as well. I wasn't there, but I must admit on TV I wasn't sure whether it was necessarily negative. I hoped it wasn't. They appeared to do the same thing to Crichton.

It may be different to give a Bronx cheer to an established player in good form, on the back of a blooper, they may even find it amusing. But unless the crowd know when the appropriate time and place is to do this is, please practice shutting the **** up, and cheer the good stuff..

I agree with others that the Bronx cheer was poor.
I think JA is putting to much pressure on himself and as the game goes on gets more frustrated and angry with his game. The effort is there and I hope he gets another chance as I like Mayne,JA/Mellington and Pav with a resting Ruckman forward set up.

At the same time, that is the most attacking and daring game we've played since his last game. He's a spud, but he adds confidence to the midfield going forward.
yeah this.. was thinking this today (as you do when bored at work).. although he himself contributes nothing, we tend to look better when he is up forward.. probably for no other reason than that magical word, structure.. obviously not the answer long term, but i would leave him in for now
