You boys even ganna train this year Rat?? Or just pick a team and rock up on the saturday and go about your business......look an absolute moral next year. Can't say the same for Rochy United tho!

Will wait and see mate, training is in full flight now and the boys look pretty sharp. No use getting arrogant then going out and getting pumped. What do you know of Shannon Fink? Has been training there as well.

Ummm Rochy United... yeah could struggle a bit this year, but do believe they have the upper hand on Echuca at this stage of the game

just wondering if anyone knows of an Alex Isilovic playing at tat this year can anyone fill me in on how he did this year and if he is still gona hang around next year, heard he also has a cousin that plays out at rumbalara that won the b+f how do they go?

Alex Isailovic is playing at Tat again next year. He is good mates with Leigh Owen and is the main reason he and Cam Trewin signed their. He started the year off very well but then got injured and couldnt play for the second half of the season. He made the GVFL combined team.

The Prince now has almost as many clubs as Tiger Woods...

Balraj joins Borough
The Advertiser
11/12/2008

EAGLEHAWK has secured star full-forward Balraj Singh for the 2009 Bendigo Bank Bendigo Football-Netball League season.
As predicted in The Advertiser last Saturday, Singh yesterday signed with the BFNL’s reigning premiers.
He joins the Hawks having kicked 82 goals for Goulburn Valley Football League club Kyabram this year, while in 2007, he booted 110 for Central Murray Football League runners-up Balranald.
“Balraj has signed with us, so we are happy with that,” Eaglehawk coach Derrick Filo said yesterday.
“That gives us Singh and Brady (Herdman), and then with Brodie (Filo) and Ryan (Threlfall) it gives us a dangerous forward line.
“Balraj is a proven goalkicker, which is what we were looking for.
“We were patient with it, and we have been patient with all the guys we have been trying to get because good players have a heap of clubs after them.”
Singh shapes as the ideal replacement in the Hawks’ forward line for Matt Gretgrix, who has returned to Charlton after spending the past three years at Canterbury Park.
Singh, 27, was drafted by the Adelaide Crows with pick 79 in the 1999 AFL draft as an 18-year-old.
While he didn’t play any AFL games, the AFL Media Guide of 2000 said of Singh: “Earmarked as a future key position player by Adelaide. Produced strong performances for South Australia in the (1999) AFL national under-18 championships, where his marking was a feature.”
While the Hawks have secured Singh, the club is still set on attracting more high-profile players to Eaglehawk as it goes in search of a hat-trick of premierships next year.
“We’re talking to a couple of key defenders and midfielders,” Filo said.
“The key to it for us is to add in some A grade players, but to keep some spots open for the good young players we have at the club.
“We could have gone out and signed a heap of blokes by now; we could have got seven or eight that were good players, but not A grade players.
“That then takes up the spots for the locals, so we have decided to go with bringing in just four quality players who will fit into the structure and keep the spots open for the locals.
“Having two-thirds of our side as locals is a big part of getting good crowds to our games because they want to see the locals play, as well as the good recruits.”

More fool Eaglehawk, Singh is a parasite as all GV fans know. He is quickly running out of leagues to play in, certainly would never come back to the GV.
Word out of Ky is he gave them a 2 year garantee but wanted a sign on fee for the second year. Can you believe it !!!!!!!
No wonder he goes to a new club every year. The guy obviously doesnt have a moral bone in his body.
Poor Eaglehawk, who next?
Dirty wouldn't be disappointed to see him go, He would much rather invest in the local kids.

Why poor Eaglehawk?? They obviously want him at the club.....and Ky, well I'm pretty sure they would have known what he was like and what they were getting themselves in to.....

What he has done is back up his price tag and clubs continue to throw money at him.....he is making a shitload of cash and while thats not why most of us play football, its why he plays and he's certainly building a nice little kitty up and performing.

It just shows how ridiculous and desperate football clubs have become....and that there's too much money floating around in lower codes of football.

Good to see some boys around the area get picked up witht he pre season and rookie draft

Rockliff to Brisbane Lions (Benalla)
Daniels to Western Bulldogs (United)
Browne to Richmond (Mansfield)
Milne to Hawthorn (Mooroopna)

Unsure if there were any others taken but the noticeable absentee would of been Jamie Sheehan i remember when he was a regular senior player with mansifeld as a 15/16 year old. Has all the skills but maybe his heights the factor??

Does that mean Linc Withers will be following him to Eaglehawk?

A former Rochy captain committed to playing at Shepp Bears next year. Is moving to the area next year after a few years down town.

Good pick up by the Bears heirachy.

Murray Bombers struck a blow as Dohnt goes

The departures of Adrian Dohnt, Sean Murphy and John Halloran will leave Echuca relying on recruiting and youth to remain a top six team in Goulburn Valley Football League next season.
The trio all sealed moves to Heathcote District Football League team Lockington-Bamawm United this week.

With Guy Campbell and Colin Durie already confirmed exits from the Murray Bombers, the latest triple blow will leave Echuca calling on the graduates of its successful junior program to fill big shoes next year.

Dohnt in particular leaves a hole in Echuca's midfield having been a GVFL interleague representative, Australian Country Championships player and Morrison Medal runner-up.

Murphy has kicked almost 100 goals in his past two seasons with Echuca, while 27-year-old Halloran is another senior departure.

But Murray Bombers first-year senior coach Brett Henderson was upbeat yesterday despite the ongoing player exodus.

``It's been on the cards dating back to September,'' Henderson said of Dohnt's exit.

``Adrian had friends out at Lockington-Bamawm and he felt his best footy was behind him at 32.

``Smaller clubs seem to have a lot more money this year, they aim for GV footballers because what they want is quality.''

Henderson would not be drawn any further on the role money played in the departures.

``I'm not going to spend time and energy on players we won't have at the club next year,'' he said.

``It's disappointing to lose senior leadership, we thank them for their contribution to the club.''

With the premier under-18 players to promote into the seniors and ``plenty of irons in the fire'' on the recruiting front, Henderson said the Murray Bombers were not on the slide.

``I wouldn't be writing off Echuca footy club,'' he said.

Have heard Tom sheldon, jordan Florance and Josh edgar will be at Echuca in 09

Jeremy Campbell???

Has had 2 years off with a knee, was coach of the year with Blackburn in Eastern League. Will he pull the boots on?

MBP, would this be in a coaching role as well as a playing capacity? I think one of the reasons he didn't go back to Rochy was that he wanted to still continue coaching. Has recently got a teaching job locally in the area as well. Fantastic bloke and player, hope he goes well.

Not doing any coaching this year. I believe he's not keen on too much travel, hence playing with Shepp.

Couple of ex Rochy people at the Bears, so I'm sure he'll settle in well.

Derrick Filo is one of country vics most astute coaches and would not have taken lightly the decision to recruit Bajah Singh. Derricks brother Shaun coached the "Prince" at Balranald in 2007 where he kicked a ton in a side that most thought would win the flag only to fall at the last hurdle.Knowing Shaun well I know he was a big rap for Singh as a player and would have certainly encouraged Derrick to take him on.Big strong marking forwards who can kick regular bags win you flags no matter what size their ego.Lets be honest here boys, we would all love to be playing for the big dollar if good enough.Good luck to the Borough.

You are joking aren't you!! Firstly Sean Filo only coaches teams that are prepared to spend huge amounts on recruits. It is a fact that a couple of players at Kerang are on over 1k a game. The reason Balranald LOST the grand final was that Singh had 3 touches for the day and kicked two goals and THIS WAS ONE OF HIS BETTER FINALS PERFORMANCES:eek: Singh has continually failed to have an impact on any finals game he has played in and he is a blight on country football. He like many have much to answer for as he prostititues himself around year after year as do the clubs that sign him:thumbsdown:
