Derrick Filo is one of country vics most astute coaches and would not have taken lightly the decision to recruit Bajah Singh. Derricks brother Shaun coached the "Prince" at Balranald in 2007 where he kicked a ton in a side that most thought would win the flag only to fall at the last hurdle.Knowing Shaun well I know he was a big rap for Singh as a player and would have certainly encouraged Derrick to take him on.Big strong marking forwards who can kick regular bags win you flags no matter what size their ego.Lets be honest here boys, we would all love to be playing for the big dollar if good enough.Good luck to the Borough.
It's a shame the feeling isn't mutual from Balraj.

This is what Balraj had to say about Sean back in August this year:
is sean filo going to be down in history for being the first coach to lose 3 grand finals in a row , unlucky hey

You are joking aren't you!! Firstly Sean Filo only coaches teams that are prepared to spend huge amounts on recruits. It is a fact that a couple of players at Kerang are on over 1k a game. The reason Balranald LOST the grand final was that Singh had 3 touches for the day and kicked two goals and THIS WAS ONE OF HIS BETTER FINALS PERFORMANCES:eek: Singh has continually failed to have an impact on any finals game he has played in and he is a blight on country football. He like many have much to answer for as he prostititues himself around year after year as do the clubs that sign him:thumbsdown:

Fair enough Lame Dog your entitled to your opinion.Shaun is contacted by many clubs every year about coaching them, these clubs all have the bucks to spend in their quest for a flag and he like the "prince" are semi-pros so the bucks are very important.Does that surprise you that a couple of Kerang players were on over 1k a game? Mate that sort of money is being paid out to players every week all across the state. Every club that Shaun has coached has at some stage attempted to lure him back which can only be taken as a positive as far as his coaching goes. In a perfect world country footy would be played by blokes for the love of the game and club but that type of loyality is long gone.Festive greetings to you, woof woof

Great comeback-see tuckylives reply and it will give you an insight into life as a 'semi-pro'. There are plenty of 'semi-pro's' that actually get a kick in a final-this bloke does'nt its as simple as that and I'm not BARKING up the wrong tree:D

What is the latest from Kyabram?
Heard they are losing half their two's players to KDL clubs and may have trouble fielding a reserves side next year?
This on top of losing Singh, Deledio, Withers?, what about Atkins will he stay or maybe sign at Gisborne again where good friend Elliott is coaching?
Have they picked up anyone other than Tongala 2nds CHF McGill and maybe a bloke from Sunshine, Linton?
After making big inroads this year will they fall back to the pack?

wheres deledio heading!! heard today that euroa signed nathan carrol on 1500k game

The football world has lost the plot!! Carroll is a fruitcake and not worth that. Deledio is off to the VFL and many GV clubs are struggling as the minor league clubs have targeted 2nd's players and paying them ridiculous coin. LOYALTYIS OFFICiALLY DEAD  And merry Xmas to Balraj altough every saturday during the season is xmas day as he gets his presents from clubs that have lost the plot

Well this will be Dirty Williams' real test and its a shame as they made progress last yr.

i dont think numbers will b a problem for ky in the 2s they have 13 thirds from last yrs team that have told they club that they should b playin at ky next yr so the ky 2s will b a very young team but i dont think numbers will b a problem and there r a number of thirds and ex thirds that may play 1s footy through out the yr and plus there is still 4 months till the footy season starts so there is time for the ky boys

Happy New Year.

Apparently Shepparton have signed a CHF from Nathalia. I don't know his name.

Any other boozy rumours down at the local over the break?

Swans sign their man Yze
Damien Yze has provided Shepparton Swans with some new year's joy after agreeing to return to Princess Park for this season.
Yze has spent the past 312 seasons playing for East Burwood in Eastern Football League.

The 34-year-old said the time was right for he and his family to again commit to travelling from Melbourne to play for the Swans.

``I've got a wife (Robyn) and two daughters (Isobella, 7, and Ava, 5), so I had to make sure it was going to be okay for them with the travel,'' Yze said.

``My mum and dad live in Shepp and my daughters are happy because they're going to get to see their grandparents every second weekend which is good.

``I enjoy playing GVFL footy. It's a pretty friendly sort of league and I'm looking forward to playing there again.''

For the Swans it's a case of them finally getting their man.

Rumour and speculation linked Yze with a return to the Swans every off-season since he left the club midway through the 2005 season.

Yze cited family and work commitments in Melbourne behind his reason to leave to return to play for East Burwood.

His return to Princess Park means he will play alongside brother and new senior captain Ramadan.

There were plenty of whispers going around that Adem Yze, delisted by AFL club Melbourne at the end of last season, would also join the Swans.

However, those talks were quashed when the 2001 Demons best and fairest and 2002 All-Australian signed for Hawthorn's VFL affiliate Box Hill last week.

``I always wanted to finish my career playing with my brothers,'' Damien said.

``It would have been nice to see Adem play there as well, but for his long-term future I think he needs to stay in the AFL system.

``If he wants to be an assistant coach in the AFL he needs to stay in the system.

``He could have been really selfish and come back to play with us for a year, but he's got a development coaching role at Hawthorn so you can't begrudge him there.

``Maybe (Adem will play for the Swans) next year, who knows? But at this stage it's unlikely to happen.''

A prolific goal-kicker, Damien Yze took the Goulburn Valley by storm in 2002 when he kicked 158 goals playing for Ardmona in the Kyabram District league.

His swag of goals included an equal league record 25 in one game and 10 in the Cats' grand final victory against Lancaster.

Yze joined the Swans with Ramadan the following year, with Damien topping the league goal-kicking in 2003 and 2004.

Any advice for a player coming out of retirement?
Maybe Puta had too many beers at the local!
No golf, are you running scared??

If Putta's making a come back they may as well ring Storer and "Nippa" Harvey and see what their up to. Putta is fast approaching 40 is he not. There must be some kids down there looking for a game, surely.
