Ky Thirds – The Perpetual Bridesmaids

Hope you have nice dresses this year boys, if it was a steeplechase you would fall at the last hurdle…again.
Who is going to go out for mangan and ogden? Because no doubt they will get chaparoned into the side for the granny.
Echuca look to be a bigger, stronger and more skilled side so they should get over the line against the smaller, weaker and more ******* ky *****.

Good luck echuca and I know you wont forget your handbags Ky.

Sorry mate. Morris must never start where he's named because 90% of the time he's named at CHF.

Re: Official 18's GVFL Thread (part 2)

Well done to the Echuca boys on the win.
Well done to Hendo and the Echuca boys. A fantastic performance and well deserved. David Ismail tore Kyabram a new backside with a 35+ possession game, winning the player of the finals series medal, best on ground medal as voted by the umpires, best on ground medal as voted by an independant panel, runner-up league best and fairest and a premiership medallion to top it all off. Not bad for a bottom age kid!

he did not have 35 touches and i dont think he deserved the 3 awards.. jordan williams was best on i thought and he has been best on in every other game they have played in the finals... he was robbed, but i guess the premiership medal would be just as good

Calm down mate. I paid close attention to his performance and recorded his touches and he got over 35 for the game.

every one can have an opinion. williams did play well over the finals, as he should being a bendigo pioneer player. dave was the player who got echuca back in the game in the third quarter. he had played well up to half time but ripped ky apart in the third quarter. he would have had a least 10 possessions in the quarter as well as a couple of goals. he was their best player against ky a couple of weeks back at tatura and played well against united also.

what i see as important is that the kid is a great bloke, unassuming, polite and gives 100% all the time. he is a credit to the efc and their development program run by rob morris. despite being bottom age this year he will no doubt get a call from the pioneers for next year.

by the way, i bet rochester are extremely disappointed that he left their club a couple of years ago when his family moved to echuca for his schooling ( i think that was the reason )

Re: Official 18's GVFL Thread (part 2)

Well done to the Echuca boys on a great win. The bigger bodies were a telling factor in the end. As a spectacle I thought the game was a fantastic showcase of the junior talent the GV has. Two very good sides going at it all game. The manner and spirit displayed by both sides in the way they played reflected the quality coaching both sides had. The league would be rapt to have had such a great game. By the way did anyone else notice the Ky coach at the end of the game lining up with his boys to shake the hands of each Echuca player. A nice gesture I thought. Roll on 2009, go the Cats!

Re: Official 18's GVFL Thread (part 2)

Phil Hubbard won Echuca's under 18's best and fairest. It's not often that a defender wins a best and fairest award, but he did a fantastic job for Echuca all season.

Re: Official 18's GVFL Thread (part 2)

Thats a fair effort given the names in that team. Well done to Phil.

Very true, but there was a lot of player turnover throughout the team over the year, yet Phil was the one holding it all together down back with his speed, strong marks and thumping kicks. Great to see a defender named best and fairest.
