We have come a long way, was a good season but we kind of played into Brisbane's hands playing that style of football, they are suited for it, we have a few players that are not. Losing Bruton early didn't help. Like the men's team, we need to evolve the gameplan so the inside 50 comes from player that can put some quality kicks that give us a fighting chance to take a mark and have a set shot where we are a decent chance of converting. We expend too much effort for too little a reward.

It's news to absolutely no-one, but losing grand finals really sucks, doesn't it?

As usual, we didn't nail our opportunities - the successes this year haven't been because we've resolved that issue, they've been in spite of it, and up to 3/4 time it seemed like sheer volume of chances created might've been enough to get us over the line. Really felt like the clearance, HTB free and goal to O'Loughlin in the square (one who really had a great game for us) might've been the moment it clicked into place... not to be. They clamped down on our strengths in the last and we just... didn't have any real answers. Bruton injury early obviously didn't help with flexibility, and probably fair to say a few of our players didn't quite manage to rise to the occasion either.

Bitter pill, but the other barriers have been cleared now and we should be well-placed for another crack next year (even if we lose a couple of players, we should hopefully see Vicki Wall back, and we have a few recruits from the last few seasons on the list who didn't play much if at all this season who might be able to fill any vacancies as well). Doesn't really make missing out this year feel any better, but...

Losing Bruton early was devastating. She is a playmaker and brings massive pressure and energy so it was worse than just being down a player nearly all day. Brisbane brought a strong game and we competed really well until we completely ran out of legs in the last quarter. I wish we could play them and have the luck go our way once.

People having a go at Craven must have missed where she beat 4 brissy players to thump the ball out, we get the inside 50 mark and think it was Randall who missed. We kick that and it was the play of the day.

First 3 qtrs were very enjoyable, crowd was great. Pitty we couldn’t capitalize on our clearance dominance.

We ran out legs in the last, and starting Em King on the bench meant we couldn’t win the clearance.

The umps sucked, inconsistency just kills it. The mark not given to Tess and the mark that shouldn’t have been given to Brissy both cost us goals.

The tackling from both teams was first rate. The ability of our girls to stick um was so refreshing. They hit hard. They hit clean.

l have never seen a game where we overan the ball, fumbled , dropped easy marks and have loose Brisbane defenders all day runnning the lines. The players could not just settle down and nerves were there all day. l think Crocker saw enough of Craven when he shifted her to the non dominant wing and replaced her with Pullar...It seemed that nothing went right today which l hope will make us more determined next season...

In terms of the game we struggle with physicality and getting enough reward for effort when we dominate.
