Can we please have the poll updated to correctly reflect Geelong's dynasty as being 2007 - 2022?

Thank you.

Still would be behind 2008-2015. ;)

Geelong - same number of flags, twice as long duration, significantly better win/loss ratio over that period, stronger opposition.

Cats comfortably. Still.

We did what they did in half the time while threepeating and denying them a back to back.

Next.

Thank you.

They had a great SEASON. Fully deserve the 2022 flag.

However first flag in over a decade means this isn't an era/dynasty. Might be.... isn't at this stage.

Geelong 2007 to 2022 (16 seasons)

4 x Premiers
6 x Top 2
12 x Top 4
13 x Top 6
15 x Top 8

73.4% win record in Home and Away matches at a percentage of 131.4%

It is an ongoing dynasty and is undisputable.

Honestly if it's over a decade between flags it clearly isn't a dynasty.

However it is a remarkable period of consistent high achievement and is definitely worth recognition for that alone.

And we did what you couldn’t by staying good for 16 seasons.

Chicken or egg

I'll take the historic threepeat thank you.

Historic how? In that it hasn’t been don’t for a decade?

One of only a handful teams to go three in a row. It's a rare club. Who knows you guys might join it in 2024.

Brisbane the toughest team I've seen, straight intimidation
Geelong the most attacking/entertaining, truly unstoppable at times
Hawthorn the most clinical and tactically superior than any other team
Richmond a little lower than the other three with pure effort and run being what stood out to me

All great teams for different reasons

Lol 2022 is not part of 2007-2022.
In yesterday’s team, players from previous years ⬇️
2007 - 1
2009 - 2
2011 - 3
I love this debate.

Has there ever been a team that has had exactly the same 18/20/22 in multiple premierships?

Why is having 0, 1 or 2 of the same players any different to having 15, 16 or 17 of the same players only?

If Geelong won 20 consecutive premierships, though with no common players in their first and last premierships, can it not be regarded as a dynasty?

Highly reliant on the quality of the competition and in that period compromised drafts severely diluted the talent at the disposal of upcoming contenders whereas Hawthorn already had a well established quality core prior to these drafts, an edge that allow them to win consecutive flags against all non Melbourne sides to boot!

The quality of the contenders is a bit like the draft, it's not every year you get to draft a superstar like Ablett. Some draft years are bereft of talent like 2003 and others brimming with it like in 2001. So you're never comparing apples with apples whenever you talk about flags won. Some are indisputably easier because of circumstances outside the control or fault of the winner obviously, but never-the-les they exist.

I'd say the RU in 2013-2015 were stronger than any of the RU since and a few of the premiers.
