It can not be Cameron. Has to be Grundy and Cox. And Grundy needs to not be taking 90% of the ruckwork like previous years.
Was there a reason Cameron seemed to be doing almost all of the ruck work in the 4th quarter? Was getting smashed by Gawn and Jackson all night.

Would've thought you'd keep Cox in the ruck given he matched up relatively well against Gawn tonight.

I was tearing my hair out. I thought if anything was gonna cost us the win that was it. Gawn was just taking it out of the ruck and clearing it easily.

Will give Cameron credit in the last two mins just not letting Gawn clear it.

Cox isn't amazing but he can nullify the influence of Gawn and other elite rucks.

Has anyone mentioned Grundy had a similar moment in the VFL. Got forward of the center clearance, received the footy and drilled a pass inside 50 onto the chest of a leading forward. Can’t recall who it was.
Pretty sure that was Henry. Who kicked it OOTF

If we're going to be playing against Melbourne every game, 100% yes. I got the strong impression that Gawn wasn't affording Cameron any respect yesterday.

Cox made a much better account of himself.

I think it's becoming clearer by the game that our ruck setup is limiting our potential. The clearest example being centre clearances and the number of goals its gifting to our opponents and robbing from us. Seems the number one reason we can't get separation.

We can cover for it, but I think we need JDG, Adams and Grundy to reach our peak for this year. Will allow us to compete around the ball and in the territory battle instead of always starting from half back. Our strong defence and better ball movement, largely driven by Nick, has made this workable, but it's far from ideal.

Cox has been fairly consistent as a ruck, and at least providing a contest, but Cameron has been all duck or no dinner and at times a real liability. If he's not taking marks (only 1 against Dees) he's not really earning his spot.

If (starting to look unlikely) Grundy does return, Cox is putting his hand up and challenging Cameron for the second ruck spot, especially heading into the drier weather of September.

It’s a moveable feast with each game. Cameron’s output against Melbourne was less than Cox’s. On the other hand, Cameron’s best is better than Cox’s.
Right now however, it’s probably Grundy and Cox.
