The Swans don’t muck around. They have long had the best record of targeting opposition players to fill specific needs and they usually get the best of them.

It’s pretty amazing to think they were able to get the dual All Australian, 2x Best & Fairest ruckman for their 2nd and 3rd round draft picks.

He looks better with a good midfield around him as his hitouts often aren't to advantage. It his hard to forget his 73 hitouts in the 2019 prelim with only 13 going to advantage because of the lack of good mids to rove to him. He still is ordinary overhead.

Graham Teasdale must come into consideration. Playing reserves football at Richmond and discarded by them in the John Pitura exchange. Went to South mid way through 1975 and he won a Brownlow Medal in 1977. Saw him playing reserves for Richmond in 1974 at the MCG and he was just jumping over opponents to take marks and kick goals. Blind Freddy could see he was a star in the making. Had played only a handful of games in Richmond 1sts but his flashy play probably did not sit well with Tom Hafey who preferred tough tradesman like players.
Teasdale's success at South (and then Collingwood) pissed off the likes of Sheedy who continues to disparage Teasdale's 1977 Brownlow win by claiming he was the least talented winner of the award. Richmond always thought Kevin Bartlett was going to win in 1977 and weren't happy when he didn't. Sheedy has later apologized for saying his remark about Teasdale which was a half hearted apology as he apologized for saying it but not thinking it.

Its not his fault the Pies cant manage their salaries and the Demons cant manage their list.

He has been an elite key ruckman since he was 20.

As someone else said, Hogan is the feelgood story.
