Could any existing players be in line for an upgrade?

#6 I think will go to Whitfield.

#4 of course would be for Tippett should he end up at GWS.

Gilham was #27 at the Hawks, so he might take one of #24/36/38.

Outside of Whitfield, the other draftees might end up in the 30s or 40s (possibly even one in the 50s)

Also, #10 will be available next offseason as Brogan will likely hang up the boots, and Cornes mightn't be in #11 for more than a couple more seasons. That provides for at least a couple of upgrades for the younger guys in coming years.

Well Josh Bruce had #6 in the 2011 NEAFL season before he gave it up for Luke Power - maybe he can have it back (47 is a pretty large number)

There was a tweet from one of the players (can't remember which one I tend to follow them all) just after Izzy quit calling for the number 4 to be given to Toby Greene.

I'd tend to agree that Whitfield will get #6. I've seen clips of him with the #5 so it seems like it would work.

I'm interested to see what happens with the #24 from Clifton. Could go to Gilham, could go to one of the higher numbers, could go to a draftee.

It does look like #38 on Jaksch in the second shot where Plowman is running away from the camera. #11 and #20 seem odd, as does Corr with #4 over an existing player. I guess we'll find out soon enough whether they're the actual numbers!

New players needing numbers with the addition of Bret Thornton, Joey Redfern and Zac Williams yesterday.

I'll take a guess and say Stewart, Redfern and Williams will get the 50s.

When they've finalised the numbers I think it might be a good idea to do what Melbourne did last week and, for 1 day, you can buy a guernsey and have it signed by a particular player for no cost. Also, as a PR exercise I think we should, for a week or two, make it free to have the numbers put on newly purchased guernseys.

Definitely Whitfield in #6 in the Thornton video.

Redfern in #49 and Williams in #33 in their video, meaning WHE with an upgrade or possibly just Zac wearing a spare as I'm not sure the rookie would get #33!

I'm wondering if that was the case with Plowman and Stewart at the Moore Park I/V with Sheedy. Just using someone else's spare who's close to them in stature.

Brogan still in 10. That hasn't changed.
