Bet the Giants' Social Media team were considering putting their own 'spin' on the Injury List they send Members regarding Taylor's description.

"Bruised plum"
"Ruptured cherry"
"Don't ask"

Well maybe for maybe a millisecond......

Taylor's return date becomes clearer, key Giants set to return

Sam Taylor will resume running next week after suffering a ruptured testicle

GREATER Western Sydney defender Sam Taylor remains a few weeks away from a comeback, having undergone surgery to repair a nasty ruptured testicle he sustained a fortnight ago.

Taylor visited a urologist on Wednesday to determine a recovery plan, where he was cleared to resume running from next week. However, the All-Australian is still likely to be sidelined for the club's next few matches.

While the results were viewed as a positive for Taylor's recovery, the star defender will likely still be ruled out of a critical period where Adam Kingsley's side will look to negate a run of just three wins from their past nine matches.

Amid their next run of pivotal fixtures, the Giants will face stiff road tests against Adelaide and Richmond as well as hosting finals fancy Carlton at Engie Stadium in a fortnight's time.

Vice-captain Stephen Coniglio will face a fitness test at Thursday’s main training in order to be available for selection for Saturday’s clash with the Suns. The star midfielder was subbed out at three-quarter time in Sunday’s win over the Tigers after managing soreness in his left shoulder. Coniglio hurt his shoulder in round 11 over Geelong, missing three matches and returning in round 16. Coniglio didn’t suffer a new injury or require a scan following Sunday’s incident, but will need to complete full training on Thursday in order to be available to take the field this Saturday.

But they forgot to include the injury list! 🤦‍♂️

Kelly is taking a bit longer to recover than expected.

Considering it's a 6 week injury for Cumming, I don't think it's wise for him to play again this season.

We were smashed in the 2019 GF partly because we had players who were not match-fit after recovering from injury.

Considering his contract expires this year - are Cumming's soft-tissue injuries chronic??

He makes the team better, no doubt, but are we going to have another player on the list who is part-time at best?

I reckon if he goes in for surgery soon, it means his contract will be renewed.

Hope he does and gets those hamstrings right for 2025.

It’s not surgery for that type of hamstring

If that's the case (and the Giants are being upfront, and that's a big if), Cumming could well have played his last game for the Giants.

Someone who plays only a handful of games every year due to chronic soft-tissue injuries, absorbing a substantial amount of $$$ from the cap is not what the club needs, no matter how well he benefits the team when fit.

Maybe use the $$$ to edge up Perryman's offer (as a thought) to $700K instead of $650K as has been suggested.

But even with this, our offer will be $100k less than the reported offer by other clubs. Perryman will lose $1 million over 8 years by staying with us - I would love to keep him but would completely understand if he took the higher offer.

Very true. I'm not saying match the other clubs' offers, but maybe a little bit more might entice him to stay with the 'known'. As always , it'll come down to what the player wants.

I reckon a fair few players have chased the money and have regretted it. Players like Corr...

Losing Perryman and Cumming wouldn't be good.
