The Finals

Large Expectations. Huge Goals. No follow through.

We Gumbies don't like post-season very much. Maybe we get on the drinks too early before matches, or we just like being called straight set specialists. Either way we failed to make an impact in finals qooty.

But that doesn't mean it won't have an impact on the Gumbies Best and Fairest (yes I am still doing that) which will hopefully happen sometime next week. Anyway let's get into the second qualifying final against the Bombers.

• Rodney Dangerfield was our best on ground performer with 16 hitouts, 33 disposals and a goal to boot
• Brick Loosener once again put in a solid performance from the wing with 27 disposals and 7 marks. Gave away 7 free kicks from frustration but I don't blame him one bit, it was the Bombers after all.

We were completely outplayed and our defence fell apart, giving up 28 goals and 20 behinds. Good thing our Full Back Ned_Flanders has now hit the road to join Old Boys. We will be able to kick a bag on him next season.


Next up is the second semi-final where we played eventual premiers Roys FFC (so technically we finished equal second right?)​

A very nothing game with no one being very special and just a terrible game to watch. Happy that the Roys went on to win the premiership though so at least our loss had some meaning.​

Both were massive in their respective positions (HBF and Wing) all season long and helped us get to 2nd on the ladder. ​
