So now we know who the 2 teams are the question now becomes which of the 2 would you rather play in the preliminary final.

GWS look to be out of form but they have that much talent across their list that it could click at any moment and we have seen that happen this year already when they overran us up at Spotless when we looked to be on our way to a win. On the flip side the last game we played they were systematically pulled apart by us as we outworked them and turned a 20 point deficit into a 19 point win. On prelim final day we'd be pretty much playing them in front of a 95-98% Tigers crowd

WCE are a hard side to gauge. Looked great early against the Power then went over an hour without kicking a goal, then when all looked lost late in the 4th and extra time they were able to dig deep and haul themselves over the line. They do have a potent forward line with Kennedy and Darling both capable of having days out. Their midfield is pretty solid with a good mix of inside ball winners and outside run and carry and their back line has a couple of very good players that could make it very difficult for us if we're slightly off our game. Only need to look at the game we played early in the season at the G. Before the rain came the Eagles looked like getting the win.

Personally I don't see either as being an easy game. We'll have to be on our game from the start and be willing to pay the price to go through to our first Grand Final in 35 years.

NOTE: Opposition fans this isn't a we're going to the Grand Final regardless thread. More a discussion of who us fans would prefer to play.

WCE are so slow with their ball movement. We would smash them at the G. They would be a dream ride into the GF. But i can't see them getting past GWS based on last nights efforts. The skill level on display last night between Port and WCE was deplorable.

Agree with CB17 above. West Coast skills were horrible last night. They only won because Ports skills were equally deplorable and they could kick straight. LeCras looks cooked. Even Mitchell was missing targets last night. I would much rather we face them especially after they've played 2 games interstate already. That said GWS copped more injuries on the weekend and confidence wouldn't be high after their performance on Thursday.
Hopefully they bash the hell out of each other and we finish the job on whoever survives another week.

GWS will smash the Eagles next week.
That extra 12 minutes they had to play, plus having to travel two weeks in a row.
Giants will win by 10 goals.

Either or, you really could make a strong case for both.

The one thing we can all agree on and thank our lucky stars is it wont be Sydney or Adelaide. Thank **** for that.

Getting into the GF is ours to lose.

GWS still worry me. They have a lot of talent.
I would like GWS if Mumford and Cameron are out. Sheil and Coniglio also looked cooked towards the end of the game this week.

If not than I would go West Coast.

Either way both teams are too tall and will struggle with our pace and pressure.

GWS. Too much on the line for a WCE pelim for me... don't think id even live it down if WCE managed to knock us out in a prelim at the G! haha
Lol I love that some of us are still not confident against a team like West Coast. It would just be a Richmond thing to do to lose a preliminary to 8th. Hopefully this year does NOT go to script.

The old Richmond, sure, but the new Richmond was born Friday night.

WCE on paper would seem the easier of the two. I still have this fear that GWS will turn into the side everyone was expecting them to, and they use the game against WCE as a tune up for ours.

That said, anyone, anywhere, anytime. Cats fans think we were mean to them Friday, wait until GWS or WCE hit the ground on Prelim day.

Agree GWS are starting to look cooked across the ground - might struggle next week but they will get there I think - they will bring in a bit more speed. We should be able to handle them the week after and the break looking good now if we come to play.

WCE will know they have to be extremely physical against the giants to be any chance.

All we can hope for is an extremely taxing game.

I feel like GWS are playing like a bunch of extremely talented individuals but not well as a team.

No Cameron for the rest of the finals series, mumford on crutches makes it interesting

This thread is just begging to backfire.

I guess West Coast would be preferred, given they finished 8th and would be making their 3rd straight trek across the country. GWS beat them twice this year though so I think we'll be playing them instead, even if Cameron and Mumford are out.

Keep in mind, West Coast nearly beat us at the G early in the year. We should go into both games favourite but either could upset us on the day.
