I'm pretty whelmed by the ins. Francis sure, but I'd have gone Buller/Gould and Stephens/Warner instead of the others.
Francis deserved his spot. He was clearly our best defender against the Bombers, albeit against poor opposition.

I find the Clarke selection so uninspiring.

ETA: I hope they have a specific role for him, otherwise he just has no impact.

I’m a bigger fan of Clarke than most around here, but I’m not sure playing him with Wicks in the same side will work. Both are essentially defensive forwards and it’s not usual you have to shutdown two running defenders

Clarke will be on someone specific (Whitfield probably), Wicks job will be to pressure around the ball, whoever has it.

Lachie Ash is also a rebound threat, but I wouldn't put Wicks on him full time. Hayward maybe.

Clarke was pretty putrid last week
Looked to me like he just didn't have much game sense, didn't seem to know what was going on. That'll probably happen when you haven't played a full game in a while so have zero form coming in and you're an average player to begin with (no disrespect to Clarke.)

Seeing there are three out and only two new in that means Clarke is in. Wow. I thought this would be a good opportunity to get either Stephens or Roberts in. Clarke has proved he is not good enough in multiple occasions. Against GWS he could be the difference between winning and losing. They have a very good running backline. The last time he played a full match it was obvious he couldn't keep up.

Really worried now. Hickey had to come in, no choice. Flynn is the best ruckman in the AFL in the last 6 weeks. He is rivaling Gawn. Francis replacing Rampe speaks for itself. I just hope he has no brain fades. He was very solid last week in reserves

Good point

I think Clarke thrived last year with an assignment , doesn't suit a sub
