What's going on with Ladhams? Did he play in the VFL on the weekend?

We desperately need him back.

No we don't!

I'm not exactly his number 1 fan, but I reckon at full fitness he's a big upgrade on McLean there and with Franklin out, our forward options are also very limited right now.

Especially coming into Finals I don't think I'd trust him at all. He goes to water in any pressure situation, and every game is essentially an EF for us. I'd rather Hickey on one leg.

Played forward but was ineffective... Looks a long way off a return.

I really hope Mills is not playing with a broken hand. Whatever the injury may explain the downturn in his usually masterful ball handling skills. Horse mentioned after the Freo game Callum was a bit banged up. This to me the guy is playing with two or more injuries that are beyond niggles.

If and when making finals becomes mathematically impossible and Mills needs surgery then FFS call it and book him in.

Ruck Jesus looked to be moving well in the VFL - far better than his last few “runs” in the AFL.

I suspect he comes in.

But Horse did express frustration at our inability to lock the ball inside 50 last week - and adding RJ certainly won’t help in that regard (even if it is a direct swap for Buddy).

I wouldn’t be surprised if Clarke comes in.

No doubt my bias is showing but Clarke didn't exhibit much pressure or influence on Saturday. I would be aghast if he made the 22.

Given Clarke played three quarters, your argument has merit.

But the way we went full defensive later in the game (with an empty forward 50 and a compressed defensive 50) meant that aspect of our game was pretty much nullified anyway.

Clarke has shown an ability to shut down a quality rebounding player. And GWS have a few.

Minimum change. Injuries assumed.
Hickey for Bud. McLean moves forward. Hick looked OK in the ressies.
Francis for Rampe. He looked fine in ressies.
That's all unless there's another injury.
I'd have Corey as the Sub for extra pace and penetration on the outside late. Replace Amartey and let Mills go in the middle.

Clarke is best used when given a job on someone. If there isn't a match up for him, he should be playing the 2s hopefully improving his disposal.

My hopes aren't good for this. GWS' defence is excellent, their forward line is basically Toby Greene or bust (unfortunately for us he's excellent and always smashes us), and their midfield is good and about to get Tom Green back. They should account for us in stoppages/clearances given we've been woeful there lately. The rub will be whether our defence can account for all the ball that gets directed to them and without Rampe (who I'm assuming will miss), that'll be difficult. Not just to take Greene as he'd have been the best match-up, but also just organising the defence as he did on Saturday until getting hurt when we started conceding goals en masse. If we can somehow manage to rebound the ball at will like we did against Essendon, we then have to compete with their defence and I don't love our chances there given how good Taylor, Buckley, Idun, Himmelberg, Cumming, Whitfield, and Ash are. We'd need our small forwards to really dominate; Papley in particular because I don't see them having a great match-up for him and then Heeney, Hayward, and Wicks need to be sharp.

Will be tipping GWS but hoping I'm wrong.

Did Roberts play 2s last week? would love to get him back in.
Roberts tore up the first half in the VFL, then played limited minutes in the second half.

I’d query where his fitness levels are at. But if (and it’s a big if) he’s match fit - he’d have to be a chance based on the VFL domination.

Just not sure we’ll make change in the mids.

One (outside) possibility could be Gould. Initially up forward, but with the option to go back. He was very strong in the VFL and I note was talked up in the match report on the Swans website.

Doubt they'll do it in case he had to come on early. Not quite fully fit yet.

For anyone planning on travelling to the game via train, the Sydney Trains website is advising Buses are replacing trains between Lidcombe and Olympic Park on game day this Saturday. So only options are bus, drive or backpack by the looks of it

I'm going by submarine.
