Traded Gysberts to North for Pedersen and Draft Pick

Not sure what this circle jerk overrating of Gysberts is about.

Sure he is young but he hasn't set the world on fire to date.

This trade is about right for both parties as both players have displayed about as much as each other.

Hardly a "win" one way.

North just turned a rookie pick into a first rounder two years later.

Quite frankly, I wouldn't judge any player drafted and "developed" at Melbourne in the last few years until they've had a shot in a real system - and North has been excellent at bringing young players through recently.

If Jordan wants to be a success, he'll do the work. He's certainly in the right culture to do so now.

Well, since October of 2011 Gysberts has been in the 'right culture' and in a 'real system', he just didn't work hard enough to earn his spot.

Gysberts is a talent, North didnt even want Peders......Neeld must not rate Gys at all

Thats what I thought as well... From what I seen of Gysberts he looked the goods.

Dont think Pedersen will be great for Melbourne but more a gap filler... Can play relief ruck which will allow Clark to stay up forward with Dawesy

In that opposite vain im not too sure what the circle jerk overrating Pedersen is about. He is 25 and proven diddly squat. He was worth a pick 60-70 at best

Which is why I said both players have shown about as much as each other considering they've been in the AFL system about as long as each other.

Fair deal all round.

Pederson suffered from having 2 gun ruckmen infront of him.
Murphy's Law would suggest that Goldstein will have a long-term injury now that McIntosh and Pederson have been moved on. At least having Petrie and Daw still gives North good coverage in the ruck stocks - astute list management and drafting over the years.

No. We did that with Darren Jolly. Gysberts unfortunately not worth anywhere near a first rounder anymore.

Gysberts was widely rated a first rounder in his draft year.

Melbourne themselves have acknowledged that the footy department and culture he came into was entirely wrong. He also suffered injuries. Basically, he's never had an opportunity to experience a proper AFL development set up. Now he does.

I thought North picked up Gysberts. Am I missing something?

Eh, last time I remember Gysberts was a bit of a reach at 11, and was considered by a few to be more of a second round prospect.

Confirmed: North sends Cam Pedersen + pick 74 to Melbourne, for Jordan Gysberts + pick 63: http://afl.to/TIQcnB#AFLTrades

So Melbourne traded away a contracted, recent 1st rd draft pick for Pedo + a pick upgrade ???

Have they had a true win during Trade week outside of getting gifted Viney for a 2nd rd pick ???

MD2. Over paid
Dawes. Over paid
Pedo. Over paid

It's his attitude that's the problem, other players have adapted and improved..

I really liked Gysberts, still do obviously. They defiantly could of got more. He has shown a fair bit more than Ben Jacobs.

Incredible by North, officially their (and everybody else's) bitches in 2012.

Get the feeling Neeld must think he's MAKING A STATEMENT on Gysberts there.
