Yeah, no. Footy is for footy. Bigoted sledges as well as kissing and other signs of intimacy have no place on the field. Run fast, tackle hard, kick long and win. That's all that belongs on the footy field.

Langers gets sledged as a "****". Wrong and the AFL should do something about it if they are genuine. But players shouldn't start kissing other players in return, whether out of sarcasm or affection. Just play the damn game please. And behave like adults (who want to beat the stuffing out of each other.).

For any lurking CoLA flogs that say their outs hurt them more than ours....

Pointedly no mention of Vickery or Tippett. At least Vickery is cheaper

I love to wake up in that blissful afterglow of beating Sydney once again. Hawthorn are the gift that keeps on giving. Been a bloody good day today.

I think McVeigh is overreacting, but I think it is harsh to say he's being homophobic. Only a small step from there to claiming a woman complaining about an unrequested kiss is a man-hater. I wouldn't like turning up to work and have someone I didn't know or like trying to kiss me, no matter what their gender.

Jones on the other hand should be hung out to dry in the media for his clearly homophobic taunt, and I'm not sure why this isn't happening already.
Maybe it would be better if the boys ran around kissing than all this punching each other.

MRP: Tounge kiss; Three weeks down to two with an early guilty plee:eek:

A couple of thoughts from the game:

1. What is it with attacks on Hodgey this year? Every d*ckhead seems to be lining up to give him a whack; is it that they're confident he can't get back at them because he's retiring?

2. That was a great, great win. I just love wins where we come from behind and hold on, particularly when we've lost the lead but still fight back. Such a great introduction to the youngsters to the Kennedy/Hawthorn way of never giving up.

This club is so great to follow!

Do you include bum pats between teammates in this? They are pretty entrenched. I don't think the kissing thing is going to catch on btw.

Of course Longmire has a whinge about the goal review but fails to mention the
1. Lack of a 50m penalty paid to Hawthorn in the third after a Sydney player booted the ball 40m away after a holding the ball decision against the Swans. Should have been a hawk goal.
2. The soft as shit free to Franklin for a push in the back and then 50m against Sicily for failing to give the ball back even though he's clearly asking who's free kick it was. Sydney goal.

Knob.

You can add the player taking the free kick from outside the boundary. He took about three staep forward, then turnec back and hand-balled. Should have been a throw in.

The Swans choke when they're favourites - 2014 and 2016 the best examples. I feel a bit sorry for Buddy to be honest. He is pretty much the only thing that stops them being a borderline finals side.

Now that the alpha male of the footy world is retiring all the young bucks are vying for the title?

Really impressed with the contested marking against Sydney. 21 -5 our way.

In the past decade or so it's been one of our biggest weaknesses. It's great to see McEvoy drifting in from the side to clunk a pack mark. Or O'Brien or Sicily leaping on to the shoulders of the poor bloke under the ball.

Plenty more new faces also who can also clunk a big mark.

Yep. What is up with us?
Winning the contested marks and the contested ball?
That is most un-hawthorn like.

Before every Haw v Syd game you have to listen to the absurd commentary about Syd. We continually show them up (and only lose when we kick ourselves out of a win) and every time there is a new excuse that is started by their mates in the media to divert attention from another loss. It is like clock work.

Does anyone have a time on Jones' comment yet?

I know I sad I would look up the time of the game when the sledging went down, but I won't do that. I don't need to keep putting gasoline on this fire.
