Hannebery's gotta go

That vision shows he has gone past the ball when he could have got to it first if he did what Hurley did ie make the ball his sole attention. Yep, he is looking at a few weeks rest
Someone doesn't understand the laws of physics then. His momentum will have his body roll that way even as he props to get at the ball.

Under the list of offences there is "striking", "tripping", "rough conduct", and then there's "bumping or making forceful contact to an opponent from front-on when that player has his head down over the ball". It's always something they come down hard on.

Negligent, high, high = 400 points, 3 games with an early plea.

May be. But you need to understand the current laws of the game. Or at least how they are being interpreted. Hurley took the only legal option in attacking that ball. He can't slide or bump. The other bloke, he took the cowardly option.

He was still doing the right thing, he was going for the ball and using his body to get the ball to his advantage, it wasn't as forceful as Guerra who went well past the ball to snipe.

Without Hannebury using his body like that it's a 50/50 ball and he runs the risk of losing it. It's called winning a contested ball.

Overblown language there, considering Hannebery got hands to the ball and has to be entitles to protect himself. Letting the lingering disappointment of 2012 cloud your view there I think.

Players with their head down over the ball have always been afforded the protection of the umpires, that law is sacrosanct and has never changed.

Hannebery knew Hurley was over the ball yet still decided to hit him front on, he has made a big mistake, it verges on cowardly and cheap, and i know that Hannebery is not that sort of player.

Even in the heat of the 'battle', it is still only a football field and common sense and a duty of care must prevail.

Funny how it's mainly Freo and Hawthorn supporters calling for Hannebury to be suspended for multiple weeks.

It wouldn't be because your teams are battling with Sydney for a top 4 spot now could it? No of course not.

Textbook attack on the footy by Hanneberry. Put your body in between the player and the ball and get lower.

But he'll go because Hurley has left himself completely open.

Whatever champ. Have a look at Hanaberry's eyes just before he makes contact. Guess where Hurley's eyes were.

3 weeks for mine, moves past the ball the a player coming front with his head over the ball. A lot of difference from the Viney incident.
Moves past the ball...by like 5cms

He should go for that pathetic attempt at pretending to be hurt.

What does he gain from pretending to he hurt? He can't get a free from it.
