Back on track thanks.

We don't need to discuss Richmond's younger players in this thread, plenty of other threads for such discussion to take place.
It is related ,to whether Reid wants to come to Richmond , regarding our list.
That's the whole point of the discussion.

The draft capital required for Richmond to entice WCE to give him up this year would go a long way to complete their midfield setup, instead of blowing it on one bloke and leaving them positionally short of top end talent.

I get that Richmond supporters are frothing over their draft haul from last year but statistically, half of those blokes won't make it, or be role-players at best.

If Richmond wanted to throw picks 1 & 2 at us this year and say, a second rounder, I'd probably take it if Reid was non-committal. Would complete our midfield with say Sharpe and Rodriguez, plus we'd use our own first rounders on Warner, should he request a trade.

Richmond, meanwhile, would've blown their draft hand one one very good player but then would have to rely on getting lucky with late picks, whilst being down the bottom of the ladder.

That's presuming their draft haul from last year all come good.

Bad list management, IMO.
Except Richmond would just be paying a 2024 second pick + 2025 first round pick + 2026 second round pick for Reid.

That’s a bargain for anyone.

1 first and 2 seconds? I get that you're looking backward at North's pick but that's not the opportunity they have ahead of them. Also, it'll likely cost more if they want to force WCE's hand this year.

If I were Richmond, I'd take my picks to the draft this year, and wait until Harley is out of contract at the end of next year, when West Coast have far less bargaining power.

Richmond should be able to make a take it or we force your hand type deal.

Well, that's what I would do also.

Still, that relies on another club not coming up with a better deal, which is the risk they take by waiting.

No talent? U23 are Gibcus, Brown, Campbell, Rioli, Clarke, Banks, McKauliff, Tresize, Fawcett, Young, Bauer, Blight, Lalor, Smilie, Faull, Sims , Hotton, Armstrong, Trainor and Algar

It’s basically 2 groups there.

An older group that has shown very little at afl level.

And a younger group that have been in the afl system for 3 months and not played a game yet.

Stay in Perth. Guaranteed Eagles premiership at some point in the next 6-8 years. Carlton will just offer him 2 million a year and it’ll be another Judd situation, Richmond are way off, Essendon are middle of the road nothing, and only Collingwood might be in the mix but I’d honestly stay at WC as they could be on the verge of powerhouse status again very soon.

Will WC? Bar Reid who else have they drafted who look quality?

They do but they think they can do it again.
Why cant we?
So far, they have made poor list management decisions lately and drafted poor mostly for years.
The last few years drafting has been quite good, since 2021 aside from Chesser and Burgiel(who both had a lot of injuries to start their careers) theres been no poor picks of note

Have they? You need to look in your own backyard.
Lobb, Hogan,Brad Hill etc.Plus we haven't been gifted the early picks of the revolving door of players who wanted out of Freo.
Hopefully this year with some decent picks we get Warner and or some elite talent due to having some better picks.

It’s not a massive call - end of the day the Roos are 3rd fav for the spoon - Ess are the 4th favs.

i mean yeah............but there's a $15 difference line between the 2.

so, while it's not a massive call, it certainly isn't a close call either lol
