I have laughed repeatedly tonight watching all the various footy programs at the notion by many of the talking heads that Cameron is not a dirty player.:drunk:

If eleven reports and multiple suspensions / fines doesn't constitute a dirty player, I would love to hear what does.
Even Browny-disappointing

Am i just completely missing something with this whole cameron hit? Honestly you’d think that Harris was at fault for the incident by the way people have been talking about it in the media. Chris scott being the latest. I’m sorry but when you choose to raise your elbow in the air and above your shoulder you lose any right to mercy imo. If he had hit him shoulder to his side/back thats different, but when you raise your elbow all bets are off.

I had a martial arts teacher (during my brief tenure as a student) tell me a long time ago that the elbow is one of the best designed parts of the human body for inflicting damage while being able to absorb impact without too much damage itself. Far better than fists or even feet (the bones are too small and get broken too easily). If you’re using it, you’re trying to hurt someone, while minimising the damage you receive yourself.

I think you're jumping too quickly to call victim blaming. Brad Scott seems to just be saying it's dangerous to go back with the flight. Which it is.

I'm with Fatcat08 on this. Scott and Richardson attempting to draw comparisons with the Brown and Riewoldt reckless running back into pack scenarios (on AFL 360 last night) are kidding themselves. Harris wasn't disregarding his own safety. He was following the ball as he was entitled to into a space that Cameron should never have entered with his elbow raised. Not sure which part of that those coaches don't understand and wonder if their view would be differnet if their own players had been involved.

Scott isn't saying Cameron was in his right to do what he did. Cameron could've attacked the ball legally and Andrews could've still been hurt.

No i'm actually not and i think you're jumping on too quickly calling that i'm calling out victim blaming. At the game live Harris actually looked at the area when the ball was kicked straight away when he took off so he did actually have a look and rightly assessed that there wasn't anyone within 20 metres of the ball drop. Of the incidents you see every week it was one of the safer circumstances, until such time as someone led with an elbow. He was saying he didn't look, which he actually did.

I don't have an issue with this incident leading to a more general discussion of the dangers of going back with the flight.

Definitely not suggesting that. Just that he tends to give players the benefit of the doubt. The one that sticks out was MacPharlin. He was at pains to stress it was accidental at the time.
Personally I always put this one in the category of: deliberately on purpose.

JB should know better than to talk such utter crap. His fellow panelist Roos spoke very well.

Everybody saying that Paul Roos was spot on with his thoughts on this act On the Couch last night, I can't seem to find it anywhere, anyone??

This sums it up

Waiting....waiting....for the tribunal decision....if it is less than 5-6 weeks I predict this board will explode.

Note- Should be 6 minimum, hopefully 8-10. Prediction anyone?

For me 7 to 8 and I'll feel satisfied. Anything more and I'll be both shocked and impressed at the message they are prepared to send.

In saying that. I think it will be 6. Which i think is a bare minimum punishment.

If its 5 I'll be pretty dirty.

prediction 4 weeks his a GWS player. If a lions player be 10.

Honestly how many weeks has no effect on the lions.
I hope Harris is ok. Not just footy. Is ok after this. He seems a really nice guy when I met him at family days.

The point where I think the AFL needs to draw a line in the sand is you use a ELBOW your gone for a long long time.
Everyone knows a Elbow caused more damage then a fist.

Cameron is pleading not guilty to intentionally striking Andrews, but will plead guilty to carelessly striking Andrews.
