Hope so, but I'm a bit concerned that he's talking up his leadership before he's got his feet through the door. Got to know and be able to perform in the job before you can lead.
I took it that he's talking about how he developed as a leader at his previous club, not 'talking up' how it will be at Collingwood.

And he's really only answering questions asked about himself & his development..

Wouldn’t surprise me if the club actually pulls him back a little on all his prep work.

Can’t imagine why. Wade will assess him and develop an individualized program but if he’s up to it, he’ll be going flat out. I’d assume that’d include a significant step up in his training and prep work. I assume he’d be targeting R1 in 2024. May not get there but it’s still a good goal to set. Nick Daicos did so not beyond the realms of possibility

Hope so. i've just seen my share of young blokes coming into an organisation and viewing themselves as leaders before they know what the hell they're doing. It doesn't always go well. I'd prefer to hear someone talking about what they've got to learn.

yep, talk is cheap. I think we all know that he got picked as cricket captain when he was 12, so he's ahead of a lot of 18 year olds. It's good to hear a kid who can express himself, so if he can get a game, he's likely to be in the leadership group in the future.

He doesn’t seem to have Nick’s humility, but I guess it’s a luxury Nick can afford as his football speaks volumes.

I hear you.

Harry sounds very confident and you want that self-belief but it needs to be balanced with a good dose of humility together with an awareness of his standing at the club.

Pendles, Sidey, Howe, Moore etc... we have enough leadership in that group to ensure a young recruit won't get ahead of himself.

I'm excited about this kid.

I remember having a conversation with my mother once. She loved James Hird. I think this started before he embraced substances. Anyway, she said such things about how polite and unassuming he was. I said that fundamentally he was as arrogant as wayne carey but he was just more aware of having the advantages of having a "nice" image. She wouldnt have a bar of it. I told her that you have to confident to the level of being arrogant to play as a champion. Inside he thought he was king shit... Anyway, she never saw my point and I didnt bother to revisit it some years later.

The point being that Nick knows he's very very good.
