Have Geelong become too powerful?

They have become too powerful and footy has been as uneven as it has been especially with Geelong's dominance and home ground advantage.
We lost 3 times at our home ground this year. Why are you crying when your mob never even play there?

All of the big 4 clubs have had the opportunity to become as powerful as Geelong but have failed to do so because of their own ineptitude.

I know you are a Collingwood supporter, but let's look at Carlton shall we. For over 20 years now they have been gifted first round draft picks and have still been stinking up the joint. That is a club that should have no excuses. Richmond had their day in the sun, but now will be down in the Mariana trench for the next 30 years again due to their own shit list management.

Kardinia Park wouldn't have helped either of those clubs.

Gee there's a lot of butthur t in this thread.

The way people are carrying on you'd think they were already the Premiers. Not to say it won't happen, but it's far from over.

Geelong have been a force for the past 17-20 years. I admire sides that are always consistent and favour being competitive no matter what over the art of bottoming out to secure high end draft picks.

We haven't been as good as Geelong over that period, but I think our record stacks up well compared to most clubs. Some of our own fans need to calm down, we're still the reigning premiers for a few more weeks ;)

People are also acting like it's been 12 flags in 20 years for Geelong, rather than simply being competitive during that time. They've lost grand finals when the opposition has been good enough. They've had a straight sets exit. They've lost finals as favourites and been bested by Melbourne based clubs at the G a number of times. That is hardly "too powerful". It's just being very good for a long time.

They'll most likely be gifted 11 home games and be required to play all finals there in the future
I hope so. They should be able to play their home games at home like everyone else.

Feel like this should be posted here too from another thread:

The main board right now is filled with overreaction threads and comments about Geelong (fantastic win for them) winning a QF against a very finals flakey Port Adelaide.

Geelong are a great club, last night's win doesn't tell us anything we didn't already know in that sense, settle down a bit...

Geelong are like the Melbourne Storm.

Always up there due to being a well run club, but hardly what you'd call too powerful as this thread suggests.
