I think some people may be missing the point of this thread....

Simmo, holding the cup. Spud collecting a Norm Smith. Arch playing his last game, running backwards into a pack in the final minute of his career and saving the game. The parade. The booze. The most un-expected flag in the history of the sport.

You know, that type of stuff.

As CM, said, that is sexual.

I have a similar dream. In my version Lower's 36 touches snare him the Norm Smith, and Thomo kicks the winning goal, whereupon he gives us a full 5 minute display of his patented muscle-flexing/fist-pumping routine.

Yeah, it's one of those kinds of dreams.

I have thought about it and I would enjoy more this time around than 96 and 99 especially with the sh*t we have put up with from the media and all sorts at the start of the year. What a way for Arch to go out.

As Teddy said, "We stuck it up em, we stuck it right up em, we did."

Im amazed at where we are today, Round 17 or whatever it is. I cant imagine being any more prouder of the guys than I am today.

Ever the eternal optomist, every year, until mathmatically impossible, I think NMFC will take home the big one. This year, the way I see it, we will play Geelong in the final. With seconds to go the score is Geelong 14.19 (103)
Roos 15.13 (103). Boomer in the pocket gets a quick kick in the pocket. The crowd watches as it floats over the head of Gary Abblett jr, into the waiting arms of Shannon Grant. The siren sounds. Grant lines up and kick the winning goal. Roos win 16.13 (109) - Cat 14.19 (103).

I must be confident.

Am skipping out of the country the 4th Sept and back in time on the 15th for the Prelim, Granny and Boomer collecting the Charlie.

I'm constantly thinking about it
Just praying that it will happen. Our immediate future is riding on this season.
A premiership would practically secure our spot in the competition.

My one is against Adelaide. It's fairly even in the opening quarter. Adelaide bursts 30 ahead before the break. North draws even again in the come back quarter. In the last quarter we surge to a 20 point lead..Adelaide kicks two...lead looks shaky...then Mac taps down to Harro who bullets a pass out to a running Wells...who kicks deep into 50....Big men fly....ball glides over the pack and into Campbel'ls arms who charges into an open goal square to secure the win:D:thumbsu:

Wells: Norm Smith
Harvey: Brownlow
Thommo: 5 goals in a freak come back
And Archer and Simmo finish as the only triple premiership players in our VFL/AFL history :)

vengeance for 98

God stop it gentlemen, I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes. What a great dream you've all been having. As has been said many times this year, we keep doing the unexpected every week, why can't it keep happening.

Imagine if we won the bastard. After last year. The terrible season, the ugly footy, the club rooms burning down the lost respect. After the start of this year. Gold Coast shit, board elections, Thommo's injury, wooden spoon favorites and a 0-3 start.

So, anyone entertained this, or is it just me?

I try not to think about it , i just want to keep winning . If we keep winning anything is possible, but the 'P' word should be a dirty word for us right now.

That has to be a lie.

How can your expectations be the same as at the start of the year?

My expectations are the same, although I don't see it as a bonus to play finals, but I do see it as a bonus to improve on 2005, which I'm sure they'll be hellbent on doing. I can't see us winning the flag this year. Our stumbling block will be West Coast. On our day, I give us a chance against every other side in the 8 but with Thompson going down and Petrie having to play permanently as a forward, we don't have the defence to cover West Coast and the forward rotations they can bring about at anytime.

For all that we could still pull it off and I'm reasonably confident against the Eagles in 2 weeks but finals are a different ball game, as I'm sure everyone is well aware of. I'm embracing the "thought", but I just don't think it's likely. My thoughts are in 2 years (all things going to plan re playing list) we'll be almost odds on.

I'm not oblivous this type of experience. :) ;) Just believe that there is every chance as long as the media refuse to believe or accept any possibility of it actually happening. So far so good. :thumbsu:

Would be the most amazing Sport Story of the year!

Yes but it's July.

Leigh Brown wins the Norm Smith by 2 votes courtesy of Healy and Walls and is traded for Melbourne's first draft pick and Brock McLean.

How good would it be,just to stick it up everyone that has had a go at us.

Great for all the loyal supporters and party like there is no tomorrow.
When we won 99 I thought we had another in us so i never really partied that hard but if we won this years just watch out.

DReam the good dream my fellow dreamers, dont pinch me as i dont want to be awoken from this great season.

If I wasn't already totally excited, this thread would have pushed me over the edge, just reading this my heart started racing and I could feel me choking back tears.

God I want to win it this year, nothing would sum up our club and what I love about it more.

I'm hoping we can give it a shake in the next 3 years, because once Simmo, Harvey, Thommo and Grant retire, we will have a down period where we fail to cover for these guys. (similar to what the WB are soon to face)

I think a key to our list is Hansen. Get him into a key position body, and with the return of Thommo, we could really do some damage.

Though my thoughts are squarely on our 2007 chances ATM.:)
