He seems to be more and more playing rugby now on the footy field with his moves. Is fascinating to watch. He is getting less ball but can still carve out a run when he gets it and inevitably scores.

So good at dealing with the tackler either early with the fend off or when he is about to be tackled does his famous sidestep. No doubt team of the century for mine one of the best I have seen.

Such a damaging player. I can't believe another club has not come with a mega deal at some point. (They probably have.)

In recent times he has been our most dangerous forward and has struggled to get off the leash. Him and maybe Chad would be the only real headaches for opposition forward coaches atm. Would love to see him freed up again for a season or two again.

Gold Coast and GWS both offered long term deals close to a mill a year multiple times.

Will be there for our next flag. Just doesn't miss games. Could play for another 5 years easily

He's lost a bit of straight line speed, but he's just so consistent at timing his runs to hit the ball at full pace and pull away anyway.

I hope he can play for a few more years. The cliff comes fast for the elder statesman in AFL.

But he's looking golden even now. As everyone else has written above, there is just so much for us to be thankful for with Breust.

Also lost 5 to 7m on his set shot goalkicking.

Luke Breust will be a Hawk for life.

Unless we trade him.

And then he’s not.

He's so smart and skillful.
It's incredible how consistently he is able to execute in big moments.
He is one of the best problem solvers under pressure I have ever seen, and probably underrated because of Cyril's brilliance.

His output for goals, assists, tackles are as good as any forward I have seen.

If Betts is the Snr of small forwards than Breust is the Dunstall. Rioli is above comparison.

Bruest is the best small forward of the last decade, or at least equal to. A gun.

I agree.

Better defensively than Betts but as good a goal kicker.

Better goal kicker than Cyril but not the equal defensively.

Also great at goal/score assists on top of his own scoring.

Doesn't have the highlights reel of the other 2, isn't as flashy.... but for a full package he's the best of the 3.

What has been reported about the knee? I haven’t seen anything.
theres a little video from Luke on the Hawks website, its "just" a bit of bone bruising.

Can't believe people think Betts is/was better than Breust.
One played second fiddle to Taylor Walker, the other had to make do with crumbs behind Franklin, Roughead, Gunston, Rioli.
