I don’t get why clubs don’t nominate players for f/s or nga does anyone know what the downside is? I figure you nominate simply to have the option open and then exercise it or not as you see fit. You take to the kid to manage their expectations so they don’t see nomination as a guarantee if it’s in dispute but otherwise why would you not maximise the clubs options?

If they’re not considered good enough to play regular VFL - do you reckon we are obliged to still nominate them simply because they hope to get drafted and it’s “feel good”….which ends up feeling bad.

I think at least prior to covid, Box Hill actually had a few extra list spots that could be used for Hawthorn Father sons and NGA players. Wonder if these will be used for whomever is undrafted out of Bennetts, Lawrence or (obviously very unlikely to not be at least Cat B) Vickery

Hey guys. Only just found out that Shane Crawford moved to the Gold Coast/Northern NSW region last year and it looks like some of his boys are playing footy for the local clubs these days. After a bit of research I also found that Ben Crawford was named in our U14s academy team (see below) and plays in the local AFL Gold Coast competition for Coolangatta. Anyone know where/if Charlie Crawford is playing these days? I couldn't seem to find him anywhere...

I believe he is playing school footy, an Crawf will see his boys get to the Hawks if they choose footy. He bleeds brown and gold. Charlie was playing with the suns a year or so ago.
