We’ve cut a lot there is no reason to cut deep again unless we have someone much better and long term to bring in. We are already one over so lynch just balances the list total. Morris most at risk then Jeka Maginness and Wingard. Morrison and Bramble next but ok if they stay. Scrimshaw only really tradeable player that we could afford to lose and get something decent for.

As much as I like DGB I think he is going to request a trade back home wanting more opportunities-

Morris unfortunately injury ridden
Jeka hasnt come along again injuries
Lynch concussion may see the end of him at AFL level
Finn unfortunately one trick pony but sometimes I feel he is another Josh Kennedy
Harry think Nth will offer him more opportunities
Kosi - just frustrating

anyway just imo and there are smarter people than me at the club and have to trust them 🤷🏻‍♂️

It's gotten interesting again for some.

We know Lynch will be one.

I don't think anything has changed with Morris and Jeka. Reckon they are done. Both injury prone.

Beyond that I would expect another 3-4 changes as we bring in McCabe and also potentially bring in a FA and/or make a trade for a Riccardi type.

Selection has been an interesting watch. It's clear Harry is not considered best 22. Got to put him in the gun either as a trade or delist.

Bramble also on the outer selection wise. He's got to be a delist consideration.

You look at both the above players and think if they are on the list next season other than depth what is their value? I would prefer to be putting the depth games into other players to try and unearth quality.

Long can't get a game despite dominant VFL form. We might have made our mind up about his decision making.

Josh Bennetts is a neat player. Does he get it enough? Big focus on his tackling numbers which he has improved. Can he go up another level? I'm not sure.

I think JOS is safe is a level above Bennetts just needs to refine his finishing.

Fionn finds it hard to get the pill. I'm not sure he has really improved this season.

I'm in the camp that retains Finn Maginness.

Kosi won't make it for mine.

I want to see more of Ryan but jury out for mine so far. But I would prefer to give him a preseason and another season than give Kosi one.

Wingard a big watch the last block of games. He might retire. It's difficult to see him play another season he can't stay on the park and has lost his speed. If we think his body has another season with better output i would be OK if we held him for depth and coaching.

I think we will see 6 or 7 changes.
Josh Bennett’s would have to be safe. Don’t think you can ask for anything more from an 18yo rookie in his first season.

If we match the McCabe bid we’ll end up not having a pick till the 60’s, doubt we will delist 6-7 players and have 5+ picks in the 60+ region
We’ve got at least 3 players that we could trade for picks between 20 and 50. So I wouldn’t worry about that.

As it stands that is correct but we may try to get more picks by trading players, trading future picks or looking for salary dump opportunities. We may also attract a free agent ( or two).
However as you say it is unlikely we will draft manywith late picks.

I'm for keeping Kozi. Prob lose Jeka. We have no KPP players and Mitchell Lewis is injury prone. Just need some depth in that position and bring in a few more. Our rucks are lumbering and can't hold down any other spot. I imagine Max Lynch is winding it up due to head knocks. Need some size on the list not just a team of mids and half back flankers.

Hopefully can attract some kpp with a few dollars but there isn't too many around

I reckon there’s more chance that I’m on the list than Kosi and Jeka next year.

Add Riccardi and a draftee to Lewis, Ramsden and Ryan and 5 should be enough.

If we don't land Riccardi and don't get a good look at Ryan at AFL level before the conclusion of the season I'd expect Kosi to be re-rookied.

Serong is 100% safe. I think talks will soon begin on a new contract extension.

Bennetts is likely to move from Category B rookie to Category A rookie list next year.

Jeka & Morris will be moved on.

Lynch will retire.

Then there’s question marks hanging over Koschitzke, Morrison, Maginness & Bramble.

There will again be around 6-8 changes as the club looks to re-shape the bottom part of the list.

That all sounds spot on, other than being a bit surprised about Serong being 100% safe. Agree with all the question marks and expect at least 2 of them to go. Jeka and Morris gone barring something between now and year end. End of the day we are 16th, with a large gap between us and 15th. Need to expect quite a few to be moved on as plenty are not up to it.

Serong played his best game in the VFL today. He will definitely be on the list for next year.

Serong broke through last season for a couple of games and didn't look out of place.

Unfortunately was struck down with a unique health condition this year through no fault of his own.

Upon return to the VFL he's clearly bulked up and grown a couple of centremetres, and has seamlessly moved into a new position where we need depth.

I'd be pretty surprised if we delisted him. Seems a perfect candidate for a one year extension.
