We should and if he shuts the wunderkid down, the rest of comp will take notice and clubs will come calling with not so bad trades.

If people want to keep Wingard, Kosi, jeka, Serong, Maginess etc alll, that would mean 0 delists and we need to delist/trade atleast 3 as we need to take minimum 3 picks to draft.

ATM, my potential delist/trade from main list is

Morris *
Wingard *
Kosi
Jeka
Maginess
Morrison
Bramble
Serong

Only top 2 I am sure of, rest based on how rest of yr goes

Lynch is technically not on list & his psot is taken up by ryan
Fionn is Cat B rookie
Morris *
Wingard *
Kosi
Jeka
Maginess
Morrison
Bramble
Serong

We need 5 to go from this list, I'd like to keep Serong for one more preseason and see if he does a Seamus M and also Finn M. With Long, Stephens and Hustwaite in the wings we could try and shop the rest. would think Eagles and Roos in the market for players???!!!
Not sure on Wingard and shame about Kozi and Jeka potential was there just skill and heart missing.

I can't say with any confidence who will be delisted from those names. You can probably mount a case either way for most of them.

At present we only have picks 3, 31 and 50 in the draft so the number of list changes will depend on the wheeling and dealing we can do with free agency, trades and future picks. Bear in mind if we move the future first we can’t move other futures unless we get others in.
It is all way too hypothetical for me to speculate on how many players we will recruit beyond the three picks we currently hold.
If I had to guess, maybe 4 or 5 maximum in and out.

We also need to have picks to match a McCabe bid. And we can only take in as many picks as we have list spots available.

In my opinion:
Gone: Jeka, Koschitzke, Morris, Bramble

If a trade is requested - Brockman, G-Barrass

If Wingard wants big money he is gone as well. 1 year insentive based with a 1 year trigger.

Would like Punky to start his transfer to our forward line coach ( extra 2 year coaching contract ).

We should only delist the minimum this year we don’t have the picks, we shouldn’t be trading good draft capital and there aren’t seemingly the free agents that are worth spending money on. I think Morris and Jeka are gone, despite his excellent tagging I don’t see Sam wanting to have a one dimensional player so Finn goes and then likely Chad moves on. We take pick 3 ideally another first McCabe and a late pick or rookie. They won’t move on both jeka and kosi and Ohara would have to have been guaranteed 4 years I would guess to make the move and learn the game.

It's gotten interesting again for some.

We know Lynch will be one.

I don't think anything has changed with Morris and Jeka. Reckon they are done. Both injury prone.

Beyond that I would expect another 3-4 changes as we bring in McCabe and also potentially bring in a FA and/or make a trade for a Riccardi type.

Selection has been an interesting watch. It's clear Harry is not considered best 22. Got to put him in the gun either as a trade or delist.

Bramble also on the outer selection wise. He's got to be a delist consideration.

You look at both the above players and think if they are on the list next season other than depth what is their value? I would prefer to be putting the depth games into other players to try and unearth quality.

Long can't get a game despite dominant VFL form. We might have made our mind up about his decision making.

Josh Bennetts is a neat player. Does he get it enough? Big focus on his tackling numbers which he has improved. Can he go up another level? I'm not sure.

I think JOS is safe is a level above Bennetts just needs to refine his finishing.

Fionn finds it hard to get the pill. I'm not sure he has really improved this season.

I'm in the camp that retains Finn Maginness.

Kosi won't make it for mine.

I want to see more of Ryan but jury out for mine so far. But I would prefer to give him a preseason and another season than give Kosi one.

Wingard a big watch the last block of games. He might retire. It's difficult to see him play another season he can't stay on the park and has lost his speed. If we think his body has another season with better output i would be OK if we held him for depth and coaching.

I think we will see 6 or 7 changes.

Do we have the picks for 6 or 7 changes?
Fringe players will eventually get off the list but i think if they want to stay some of them may survive one more year. I recon 4 or 5 max given our picks unless we r successfull in trading in a few.

I think we will look to bring more picks in via trades.

Is Long contracted next year?

Stephens has next year, and whilst I like Long, if we add another mid or two in the draft I think he's in trouble.

Club really seems to rate Hustwaite.

Pretty fair assessment RR.

Regarding Fionn, we need to give him time. Nash didn't get much of it early on either.
With most of those you mentioned, one might make a fair argument to keep them. But in the wash-up, we are a poor side, albeit on the way up, and we need better talent than what they provide.

One you didn't mention, probably because he is not at contract end, is Stephens. He has consistency issues the same as Long. That is, performs well for half a game then fades badly. Hasn't been anywhere near close to a call-up. If we draft another mid or two, he will be surplus to our requirements. His tenure depends on how long his current contract is.

Oh, and I cannot stand the expression "... for mine". Wasn't it coined by the idiot on Ch 7 Peter Landy? I remember him calling a game and about 5 minutes into the first qtr, a player has his third possession - Landy quips 'he is best on the ground for mine'.

Haha Peter Landy. Was so biased against us in his commentary.

Re Stephens yes I think he is ok for another season. He is more dynamic with his movement than some of the others named above. He seems to be ticking the box at BH in terms of learning a 2nd position. I think another season in our system he will improve and I think we will see him get a game before the season is done this year.

Long is a contested bull with a huge frame but lacks leg speed. Will be an interesting watch.

I really like what he brings. Real heart and soul player. But can he rise above his limitations...certainly has the attitude to give himself the best chance. I'd like to see him get a sustained run at AFL level to see if he can bring the same to the top level.

Must be a Chief like thing then. To the best of my knowledge he was (and is) a Hawks supporter.

How things have changed. Early in the season people on here were saying it would be difficult to move on 3 players lol.

There is plenty in the hot seat. I can see another 6 players minimum moved on from our list.
We’re 16th on the ladder. There’s no shortage of players on the list who just aren’t good enough
