Ladson (along with Birchall, Guerra, Gilham & Ellis) is brutally underrated across the competition, and by our own supporters it seems reading recent threads.

If people don't understand by now how crucial ball use out of defense is to the success of our gameplan..

Signing Ladson in particular is great news given recent conjecture. I'd by far prefer to trade Dowler, McGlynn or Thorp in any Burgoyne/Gibson trade.

Very happy to hear that Laddo and Gil will be around a few more years at least. For mine Gil is one of the most important players at our club. Our backline is much better both with the ball and defending when he's on the ground.
Laddo is very under rated by most imo, would have been poorer for it if he ended up elsewhere. Re-signing Goo and Tails are good moves for our structure and depth also. Not a bad couple of days for us.
Good news before trade time that some more of the key people are locked away......

Though I hate this forum right now. People willing to throw away Lewis, Tuck, Ladson, just for a chance to get Burgoyne. I'ld rather keep our list intact. There aren't too many I'ld want to throw away, I don't care how good Burgoyne is.

Ladson is quality. For a few supporters this year its been a bit of 'you don't know what you've got till its gone'.

Ladson, Gilham two year deals are warrented. Should be integral to our back 6 next season.

Guerra has some degenerative injury, ever since he joined us. Hence the one year contracts. Has given great service to the Hawks having a good 2009, and an exellent 2008 coupled with an extremely good finals series. He is an underated player around the AFL.

Simon Taylor was required for ruck depth. Funny how he has made a career out of being a stop gap solution.


McGlynn, Kennedy, and Dowler out of contract could mean something?

Great to get all those guys signed up. Ladson and Guerra are integral to our structure with their precise kicking and smart ball use out of defense, whilst Gilham continues to improve and is obviously our #1 tall defender at this point in time. Good work Hawks.

Taylor was a no-brainer after Max went down, but we really need blokes like Renouf, Walsh and Lowden to come on in the next few years.
